China: attacks possibly linked to terror groups

By WILLIAM FOREMAN URUMQI, China (AP) — China said Wednesday that some evidence suggests terrorist groups may have been involved in a series of attacks in the Muslim territory of Xinjiang, far from the Olympics in Beijing. Since the assaults began nine days ago, killing 31 people, authorities have been playing down the possible connection with terror groups that may be operating in Xinjiang, a sprawling region of deserts and mountains bordering eight Central Asian nations...

...However, some analysts were skeptical about the claims that terror groups were involved. Yitzhak Shichor, a political scientist at the University of Haifa in Israel, said China effectively crushed the terror networks within its borders in a crackdown that began in the 1990s. The recent assaults "are not the kind of coordinated terror attacks that are being orchestrated by some kind of organization inside or outside of China," Shichor said. "It seems like individual acts of revenge."


A political scientist is now a terrorism expert? Or is he just some quack?

NOT TERRORIST ATTACKS??? Let's see they bombed both police and civilian targets. Just days prior the Turkestan Islamic Party posted videos on the internet threatening attacks on China. What a coincidence! Blowing people up as "revenge" (which incidentally is what bin Laden basically says, revenge for the US "violating" Muslim soil"), IS terrorism even if the people doing aren't card carrying members of the TIP or other terrorist groups such as the Eastern Turkestan Islamic Movement.

Sounds like the old familiar excuse that kids in rural towns who sell drugs, shoot at each other, and commit other crimes against residents while calling themselves Crips, Bloods, or some other gang name are just "wannabes."

Quack, quack, quack. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED BY SOME WELL KNOWN GROUP TO BE A GANG MEMBER OR A TERRORIST. Where does Yitzhak get his information from?


Any half wit can simply use GOOGLE or some other search engine and find plenty of terrorist activity being reported in China. Blowing up buses back a few months ago. More "revenge?"

Please don't swallow everything you read or hear without looking into it yourself. Not even what I say. We ignored terrorism for 30 plus years and now there are cells located in over 60 countries.
