A Woman's Abuser in a Black Robe

Imagine this. A woman lives a trapped life of abuse, subjugation, verbal assault, emotional disregard with vicious, relentless battering of the mind. Just enough to match the bruises left by strangling hands often found around her neck.

These things heaped upon her by the epitome of a dreg of society. By a mindless, washed up, drug pushing, crack smoking, waste of humanity. A living breathing pile of refuse feeding off of the benefits of society, slipping through the hands of justice over and over again thanks to the "work" of slimy detestable attorneys desperate for another win. A parasite for whom bullets cost too much to extinguish.

A justice system that ignores countless violations of a restraining order. One with so called officers of the law who outside the hearing range of society tell her"That's what you get for marrying a ni@#er." Before the blood is even dried from her wounds. Cops too busy showing off their type A personality b@lls to the subordinate society they are supposed to be protecting not spewing out detesitble racial slurs to.

Now imagine this same woman trying to get her kids out of this situation. With no one to help her. No kind of assistance from the local child welfare department that her taxes and ours are providing money to, in hopes they would quit cackling on extended coffee breaks long enough to actually fill out forms correctly.

This same woman, who is an emotional, financial, and physical hostage to a piece of trash is then forced to drive a vehicle he stole. Then, those ever competent law enforcement officials happen to pull her over, probably because at first glance she looked just a little darker than the "average white woman" and arrest her. Maybe its all Italians who are mobsters? (Nice profiling jerkoffs.) And who goes to jail? Most certainly not the parasite of our story. Not the actual thief.

She does. Justice strikes again.

Put on probation some would say she got off easy. Some racists and D.A.s with paper thin skins barely hiding their incompetent souls. She avoids jail, only to return to a different kind of prison at home. This same man, who continues to invade her shante of a santuary away from him, to steal money and property to pawn for crack. Oh, and let's not forget an occasional beating before heading out the door. In full view of the kids. Feeling no option, feeling that if she stays, she and her children will die; she sees an opportunity to escape. And damn the so called law in that state, her kids are at stake. Screw probation meetings in between life threatening beatings.

Flash forward to a year later and three states away...

In time she is able to find a real man, true love. Someone who only lays his hands on her to wipe her tears away after another fitful nightmare. Someone who not only has been willing to fight to show her what real love is, but is also an enlisted soldier of the US military. The same one that helps protect you and I as well as the pompous legal system in her home state.

Then low and behold that ever present long arm of the law reaches out across three states to track down this woman, such a threat to society and all, and halls her back to court. Her pleas for them to listen about her captivity and countless threats is thrown out. Because according to the so called judge, another fine example of the pathetic system we call justice in this country; she is a criminal plain and simple. I wonder if this judge is another one of those who thinks, "That's what you get for marrying a "n#@@er." Maybe "just" a sociopath with a gavel?

In the same city where there are areas cops are afraid to actually patrol. Where you have to go to sleep at night listening to a constant barrage of gunfire. (I know, I once lived there.) The same city that can brag about having one of the highest murder rates in the United States. The same city where you better not wear the wrong colors in a supposed free society lest you get riddled with holes. The same city where rapists, child molesters, dope dealers and similar vermin seem to catch more probation than jail time.

But don't be an abused woman without the finances to hire an attorney with a set of b@#ls to defend her properly. And by the way where are all the victims' rights groups? Collecting donations for all their hard work?

The prison that she escaped from is now taking a different form. One with real bars and filled with actual real criminals. For 3 1/2 years now she gets to once again pay for the acts of a pile of parasitic filth.

WHILE HE WALKS AROUND FREE.

I don't know where or how this judge got her job. But I hope she loses it soon before she locks up another victim so she can look like some comic book crime-fighter in a cheap robe. Faith in the justice system? Certainly not in that city. One where law abiding citizens are restricted from protecting themselves with a gun while the criminals exchange fire on the streets with AK-47s killing little kids in the process. It seems in Chicago, criminals and abusers come in all forms.

But some of the lowest come adorned in stupidity and pompous black robes.

It was just another night at the juvenile "holding" facility. But just another night at that place was nothing to brag about, enjoy, or feel comfortable with. The usual disruptive sounds brought myself and one other staff member to the juvenile's room to find him standing there pretty agitated. That was nothing new but the metal chair leg he had in his hands was.

"Great." I thought to myself. What was worse in this microcosm of machismo was that his adversaries weren't backing down despite the threat of getting a skull caved in and being bludgeoned to death.

Ah yes, nice and volatile.

Angry groups are always far more dangerous than a single individual who is mad. They feed off of each other. Encourage negative behavior out of each other. And every individual within the group tries to out tough guy the other in the group. So here we are a couple of angry young gang members exchanging words with a couple of other angry young (did I mention fairly athletic?) gang members. And now a weapon is involved.

Something to note is this. Why did this kid pick up a weapon in the first place? To intimidate? Why intimidate? To cause hesitation, to create fear in his enemies. Why did he need to do that? Most likely because he was afraid in the first place. The last thing I wanted to do was make that fear worse. The more afraid an animal is, the more aggressive he can become.

To be fair I never had any personal problems with this one kid, the one with the deadly weapon, so I felt a little more at ease with him than some of the others there. It was a little easier to fake a smile. But once metal starts getting thrown around that kind of negates that comfy feeling too. I knew I wasn't going to jump in there in the midst of them like some sort of Bruce Lee / Chuck Norris hybrid ninja. I knew once physical action was started you had to be committed, have a plan, and have back up. We were a little short on staff as usual. I didn't know all the parameters or what exactly was going on. And I was too far away from the guy with the steel rod. At that moment, my smile was my greatest asset and at great risk.

What's that you say? Too far away? Wouldn't that have been the ideal place to be? Not really. Not when there was no place to escape to. What I needed to do was get that weapon away from him before things got really bad. And bloody.

If I stayed at arm's length or only slightly more away, that would put me right in the most powerful part of a swing of that chair leg. Not where you want your skull to be when someone is trying to knock one out of the park. So I had to get close. This wasn't some guy on the street either that I could pick up a bigger stick and go after. It was a kid. A kid bigger than me. Better armed than me. But someone's kid nonetheless. Someone's kid that despite being in trouble with the law, was still my responsibility to keep as safe as possible. So I took the Sun Tzu approach.

Sun Tzu was the Chinese philosopher that wrote the ever popular "Art of War." A book still used today in business and military strategy. My favorite quote from the book, "All warfare is based on deception."

I had to pretend everything was cool, that this was really no big deal, and that I certainly had no intention of physically engaging him. Big smiles, biiiggg smiles. Deception.

All so I could get close. That's the thing that any attacker has to do. He has to "get close" in order to carry out his physical attack. Many predators also have to get close mentally first in order to get close physically. So I used non-aggressive body language (yet remembering to keep my body as safe as possible.) I used an oblique approach to him as well. If I tried to get at him from behind that would equal aggression. If I ran or made sudden movements toward him, aggression. If I approached him head on, I would become his primary target instead of the other guys. So I approached with a calm, lighthearted (yeah that was a task) vocal tone, with the "calm down" hand gestures going. These hand gestures also provide a "ready to defend" posture as well.

Once I got in close I shot my hands down on his wrist and on the bar itself. I grabbed the bar knowing that physics would be on my side, making it a lever to pry out of his hand. I grabbed the wrist to stabilize his hand and keep him from so readily snatching it away.

Well it didn't work out all pretty and flashy like in the movies either. It wasn't a quick loopy movement with a snap of bone and then the weapon was in my hand. Nope, I kind of had to twist it out of his hand. But once I got it, I didn't care what it looked like. Now I had the weapon and he didn't.

Taking the weapon out of the equation seemed to de-escalate the crowd. Or maybe it was because "Mr. Tonio has a steel chair leg and is kinda pissed." "Mr. Tonio ain't smilin' no more." But the end result was what we wanted. No fight. No swinging steel weapon. No bleeding. No stitches or premature death. No one's kid hurt. No me hurt. Just paperwork and another "war story." Everyone happy.

Well at least everyone capable of smiling a full smile.

Here's what you take away from the story:

Groups are always more dangerous. Guilt and individual responsibility are diffused throughout the group. Its easier for a person to kill you when he feels lost in a group.

In dealing with weapons, and you are unarmed, the ideal place to be is anywhere but there.

If someone is going to start swinging an elongated bludgeoning weapon, (and you cannot escape,) you want to be within the arc of power. Not at the very tip of it. You don't want to be right in front of him either. They call it "kill zone" for a reason ya know.

Fancy is for the movies.

Watch your body language. It speaks volumes.

Don't try and be macho. Use deception. You have to get close sometimes and you can't get close if you're playing macho.

Fear=aggression. Someone who is afraid can be far more dangerous.

Smiling in the face of danger doesn't necessarily mean bravery. Sometimes its just part of being able to stay alive for another day.

Ahh...there. That's worth smiling over.

The internet is like a vast ocean of information. You can be sure that in this ocean too, there are sharks.

Sharks in the ocean of the internet don’t often show their fins until it is too late. They can snatch you and take you under to a world of misery before you realize it. I cannot state explicitly enough how dangerous the internet can be.

While it is a great place to learn about other cultures, develop friendships, and learn new information, just like the real world, there are also going to be predators that hide under the beauty and mystery of this ocean in order to get to their victims. For pedophiles, abusers, and users the internet has become the ultimate hunting grounds.

How the Predator Gets the Puzzle Pieces to You

Everything you say and do online could potentially be used against you. The way you interact with others will often reveal things about you that you don’t realize and often this happens due to the efforts of the predator and how he engages you. Manipulation tactics are used to create an atmosphere of trust and to open dialog. In Gavin DeBecker's book, The Gift of Fear, he tells of certain tactics that predators in the real world use to get their prey.

Many of the same tactics that work in the real world also work online. What follows are some tactics based off of DeBecker's observations, but in the context of the internet. Many of these tactics may appear to overlap in purpose and meaning, however this is exactly the objective, that the tactics should blend as seamlessly as possible into a ‘trojan horse’ persona.

Sympathetic Charm: Appearing sympathetic, open minded and eager to learn combined with remarks that charm or stroke your ego may increase the amount of information you tell. Projecting a sense of empathy often makes the predator’s target feel more at ease to speak with those he / she perceives as being open or like minded. People like to have someone to listen to them. A good listener makes a good counselor. It also makes a good predator.

Ego Stroking: In conjunction with sympathetic charm, the predator may take opportunities to stroke your ego. Remarks, when properly employed, concerning fascination with what you know or how smart you are, what you believe in, and / or overall personality may prompt you to continue talking and in turn continue information sharing. The more superior you feel to another the more vulnerable you become to tactics of manipulation.

Self Degradation: Comments regarding himself as being inferior to you could make you feel the need to encourage him (save him) or maybe even let your ego show what you know and in the process reveal more personal information. This is related to ego stroking in that it creates opportunity for the subject to revel in his ‘superiority’ and knowledge base. If the subject perceives the hunter as an equal he may perceive him as a threat. If the subject doesn’t perceive the hunter as an equal he will likely perceive him as subjugate to him, thereby creating the potential for a “master to student” mentoring situation. Pride comes before the fall.

Shared Circumstances: Creating a sense of kinship in perceived struggles, similar historical backgrounds, or current affairs. Related to ‘Forced Teaming” (The Gift of Fear, DeBecker 1997), this tactic involves creating a sense of unity by using such terms as “we”, “you and I”, “us” when conversing. It is creating a false sense of partnership where none truly exists.

Volunteering Information: The predator may freely give information (albeit false) to his target that appears to be personal in nature. Information can detail everything from personal history to geographical location. This tactic is more convincing when this volunteering of information appears to be unintentional. The purpose of volunteering information is to demonstrate a sense of trust and to ‘obligate’ the subject to share similar information. He may tell you, without you asking, where he lives, hangs out, what his phone number is, or simply give you his full name. He will do this, so that you will return or “volunteer” your personal information. The difference being, his is likely made up, and yours will be real. If he wants to stalk you then he will have some important information to use against you if you aren’t careful.

Ego Challenge: When done correctly the predator may make a slight challenge to your ego so that you will feel the need to prove him wrong. He might say things like, “I bet you’re too pretty to talk to me.”

In Need of Salvation: When the predator presents himself as one who is emotionally, physically, or financially in ruin this may cause you, his intended mark to see this as an opportunity to come in and rescue him.

Misdirection: Keeping your focus off the predator’s intent is crucial in maintaining the sense of trust. Misdirection may involve creating drama where there is none, accentuating focus on contrived fears, anger, or beliefs, creating false concern and general spin of relevant information. If he is good, he may be careful not to appear too eager to pry into your life; he must in essence create opportunities to encourage you to come after him. Our sense of worth is often defined by our perceptions of how others perceive us. Ideally, he wants you to become dependent on feedback from him in order to feed into your sense of worth. If he is good he will make efforts where you are made to feel you are the one in control.

Don't get bitten.

For those that falsely think conspiracy theorists are of no real concern. Consider this:

What's the recipe for an appetite for destruction?

Nearly every single extremist ideology and group. Every terrorist organization and cult have one thing that binds them together. Different flavors but the same kind of food....One thing that is the glue holding their organizations intact, inciting their anger, rage, violence, and rationalization of violent behavior together. One thing that unifies them, draws new members in, gives "lone wolves", both mental defectives and social outcasts a place to go to be part of something bigger than themselves.

Conspiracy.

Islamic extremists believe the Western world and the Jews are out to get them. Literally in some dark secret coordinated effort.

White supremacists believe the Jews and or other races are out to get them and or are working with a secret one world organization to rule the world.

Black supremacists, again...lots of them hate Jews, but even the ones that don't, bring disenfranchised people into their ranks by "educating" them on the secret cabal that is out to get them.

Whether religious, racial, political, or other worldly in nature all these groups use "conspiracy" as a unifying glue. A method to their madness. A common flavor in their particular brand of poison punch.

When it comes to a point where any evidence no matter how logical or scientific provided to them is just always wrong or "part of the conspiracy", where everyone who doesn't believe like them is either "in on it", a sheep (insulting people tends to make them want to prove you wrong), or is somehow proven to be erroneous by their extensive and unquestionable knowledge, you have a problem.

Unquestionable. Speaking of that...are you allowed to raise a healthy question or concern about what you're being taught? More importantly, are you allowed to simply disagree on some point of your group's belief system? If not...

Religious extremists use "God" as the defining authority. And they themselves are the defining authority on what God wants. So by proxy, THEY become God. Well, no one wants to go to hell right? So throw God around at people and they'll buy what you're selling. Who wants to be doomed?

Eco-terrorists use an "angry earth" or disgruntled nature ideology to let us know that if something isn't done, we're all doomed. Something drastic that is.

Racists sometimes use "God" and often use "threat" as in "if you don't join us you'll get wiped out too." You'll be doomed to live in a concentration camp by all the races trying to wipe you out. By the secret cabal no one but the privileged few know about.

DOOMED!!!

If you don't believe us God will get you.
If you don't believe like us you're stupid and therefore at risk for being socially unaccepted.
If you don't "do something" by joining us, you'll die too.

Threats, fear, doom and gloom. All key elements to conspiracy. Secret stuff going on behind our backs. Stuff that you only know if you're smart like us or evil like "them."

They create a war where there is often none. They give the angry and the easily manipulated something to believe in and to fight for.

1. One pinch: Privileged information
2. One cup: Impending threat (fear, doom, and gloom)
3. 3/4 cup: No middle ground (us vs. them)
4. 2 cups: Unyielding obedience
5. One ounce: Unyielding anything contrary to what they believe
6. One tsp: Drastic measures

These are the main ingredients in conspiracy. And conspiracy is the main ingredient in extremism. Mix extremism well with willing brainwashed volunteer. Stir and manipulate well. Allow to simmer under the increasing heat of propaganda with a group of like minded. Seal tightly from outside influences.

Serve when boiling over.

On September 10th 2001, if someone had come up to you and told you that the following day terrorists from a relatively unknown (to the general public) terrorist group would successfully hijack, not one but four airplanes simultaneously using only pocket knives, then pilot the planes themselves into the sides of two of the world's largest skyscrapers and the most powerful nation's central command of national security, you would have laughed and dismissed said person as ridiculous. And if they told you that not only would they do these things, they would bring the two skyscrapers down along with several other buildings nearby, thus inflicting the damage a small nuclear weapon would have in the same area as well as take a very sizable chunk out of the Pentagon, you would have dismissed the person as not only ridiculous but the product of fanciful imagination.

Had you forgotten that the same group a few years prior would take a small boat and blow a house sized hole in a United States naval destroyer you would have dismissed the possibility of such an attack as action movie fantasy.

Had history not informed you otherwise, you might have thought the idea of “peasant” fighters of the same breed (and some future members of such a terrorist group) would essentially be able to drive one of two of the world's largest nuclear capable superpowers out of a country, you would likely laugh at such an idea as well.

Then imagine that our man on the street who told you about the idea of such an attack happening would then go on and tell you that the same group or affiliates of said group, over the next few years, would launch successful attacks of varying intensity on Spain, England, India, Bali, Russia, China, Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and numerous other nations, you would have scoffed brazenly.

Now after all of the previous had materialized before your naive eyes would you have agreed with the following statement from the 9-11 Commission?

"The most important failure was one of imagination...We do not believe leaders understood the gravity of the threat."

And yet we continue to dismiss ideas of nuclear, biological, or chemical attacks on our military and civilian populous as laughable.

Imagine that.

To win hearts and minds they must have a heart first

It doesn't seem to matter if you are helping orphans or not. So much for winning hearts and minds. And there is no report of these aid workers attempting to convert anyone (before any protesting begins.)

The workers were locals. Not "invading" westerners either. And the local non-extremist Muslim population is just as much of a target. It doesn't matter what religion you follow or if you follow one at all. At least not to these radicalized religious fanatics.

Somalia Islamic Militants Behead Four Christian Orphanage Workers

MOGADISHU, SOMALIA (BosNewsLife)– Christians in Somalia faced a tense day Thursday, August 13, amid fresh reports that fighters of the country’s main Islamic insurgent group al-Shabab beheaded four Christian aid workers for refusing to renounce their faith in Christ.

International Christian Concern (ICC), a major advocacy group investigating reports of religious persecution, told BosNewsLife that al-Shabab members killed Fatima Sultan, Ali Ma’ow, Sheik Mohammed Abdi and Maaddey Diil after kidnapping them on July 27 in the coastal town of Merca, some 90 kilometers (56 miles) from the capital Mogadishu.

“The Islamists kidnapped and eventually beheaded the Christians after they refused to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ,” ICC said. The four Christians had reportedly been working for a local non-governmental organization that helps orphans in southern Somalia.

ICC said that on August 4, an unidentified junior al-Shabab militant notified families of the victims that the four Christians had been beheaded for apostasy. He allegedly described the Christians as promoters of “fitna,” a Muslim term for religious discord.

The militant, who called himself “Seiful Islam” (”the Sword of Islam”), told the families that the bodies will not be given to them “as Somalia does not have cemeteries for infidels,” ICC quoted the statement as saying. “All the four apostates were given an opportunity to return to Islam to be released but they all declined the generous offer,” a witness of the beheading allegedly said.

MORE THREATS

The reported killings of Christian aid workers came shortly after al-Shabab declared three United Nations agencies working with the country’s U.N.-backed transitional government as “enemies of Islam” and said their operations in Somalia have been shut down.

Al-Shabab also claimed responsibility for other attacks against the Christian minority in Somalia, which has been plagued by widespread lawlessness and anarchy. Earlier last month, al-Shabab beheaded seven people in the southwestern town of Baidoa after accusing them of converting to Christianity and spying for the transitional federal government of Somalia, Christians said.

In 2008, fighters of the group killed more than a half dozen Somali Christians, ICC added.

“Al-Shabab has once again demonstrated its utter disregard for the dignity of human life,” said Jonathan Racho, ICC’s Regional Manager for Africa and the Middle East. “The majority of Muslims in Somalia, who are also the victims of al-Shabab’s cruelty, do not support their ideology or practices. It is high time for the international community to take robust measures to end the heinous crimes that Al-Shabab and other extremist groups are committing against the people of Somalia,” Racho said.

AFRICAN UNION

However the government and African Union peacekeepers hold only a few blocks of Mogadishu.

Al-Shabab, which has foreign fighters in its ranks, operates openly in the capital and seeks to impose a strict form of Islam in Somalia and to overthrow the government. The United States considers al-Shabab a terrorist group with links to al-Qaida group, but al-Shabab denies that.

Muslims have also reported deadly attacks against them. On Wednesday, August 12, masked gunmen stormed a mosque Wednesday in western Somalia, killing at least five Pakistani Muslim clerics.

The victims belonged to the Islamic missionary movement Tablighi Jamaat, Pakistan’s foreign office spokesman Abdul Basit said in a statement. Some extremists, including shoe bomber Richard Reid, have been linked to the group but Tablighi Jamaat is believed to be apolitical and nonviolent. Some of its members travel the world, preaching to fellow Muslims.

POLICE INVESTIGATION

Police surrounded the mosque after the attack in the town of Galkayo and said they were searching for suspects, The Associated Press news agency reported. No one immediately claimed responsibility.

Somalia has been ravaged by violence and anarchy since warlords overthrew dictator Mohamed Siad Barre in 1991, but then turned on each other.

A moderate Islamist was elected president in January in hopes that he could unite the country’s feuding factions, but the violence has continued, observers said.

Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to investigate the alleged torture of terror suspects by the CIA goes against the advice of President Obama, who said he wants to "look forward, not backwards" on the controversial interrogation techniques approved during the Bush administration. The White House made it clear Holder is acting on his own. "The President thinks that the decision of who to investigate and to prosecute is in his (Holder's) hands," said deputy White House press secretary Bill Burton. The review details the interrogation of high-ranking Al Qaeda operative Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the architect of the 2000 USS Cole bombing. One agent said he could have the terrorist's mother brought in, implying she would be raped in front of him. Agents also cocked a gun next to Al Nashiri's head, and revved a power drill next to his ear. They also staged a fake execution to get him to talk. All of these tricks went further than the harsh tactics the Bush administration approved. Holder said he will not seek charges against the lawyers who crafted the interrogation laws. Unlike you, I have seen what these animals are capable of. Unlike you, who hides behind your suits that cost more than what most of us make in a month, unlike you who sits on your prissy behind and casts judgments like some sort of dimwitted Monday morning quarterback, I've seen what these people do to victims who have done nothing to them.

They don't rev damn drills. The ram them into hogtied hostages. They don't throw water into captive's faces, they castrate them and let them bleed out. They don't use psychological warfare making fake threats against families, they instead butcher our families. And praise "god" for it.

Have you ever heard of Beslan? Beslan Russia in case you don't know where that is on the map. In case the nose you look down upon people with gets in the way. That is the place where Islamic terrorists took over 1000 people, the majority of which were children hostage and made them live in their own filth for 3 days. Executing fathers in front of their children. Eventually they SLAUGHTERED over 300 people, the majority of which were children. All for their "god."

Oh, then there was that World Trade Center thing. (You might be able to find something on the internet about that incident.)

Not to mention, Spain, London, (lost count of the attacks in Pakistan, Israel, India, Egypt, Turkey and pretty much every country in the middle east.) China, Bali, Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines and the list goes on.

AND YOU WANT TO EXTEND SOME SORT OF BS OLIVE BRANCH!!!!????? By threatening to prosecute individuals who pretended to threaten the lives of these terrorist's families to get information. Who revved drills in the rooms but NEVER CUT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

Now you are going to prosecute and by doing so, release the names of these agents WHO HAVE KEPT INNOCENTS ALIVE by acquiring information necessary to prevent numerous attacks.

Are you intelligent enough to realize that these CIA agents' families will now be on the target lists of these terrorists. Or do you not give a damn if their kids are slaughtered either?

You ain't getting the Nobel Peace Prize and the only name for yourself you are making is one that I will not say here. You are going to get innocent people killed so that you can look good. So that you can kiss the Islamacists asses thinking you are somehow saving the world. Well, that part is not true, you aren't doing it for anything as noble as saving the world.

Your actions will not only endanger and condemn the lives of the families of these agents to certain death but you are endangering us all. In the end, when it is all said and done, when radiological devices go off in downtown Manhattan, LA, or Chicago. When VX or Sarin gas kills a thousand people in a subway. When the Sears tower collapses, when Hoover dam breaks, when DC gets nuked you will be considered a war criminal yourself I strongly suspect.

You may think public opinion is on your side now. But when hell is unleashed on this country because of you and your administration's candy-assed approach to "fighting" terrorism, the American people will remember you. And your responsibility in allowing it to happen.

I want you to look at the Beslan children. I want you to go back and watch people, burning, jumping out of the World Trade Center, I want you to look at the bodies strewn across the streets like garbage in Bali. I want you to watch EVERY SINGLE BEHEADING VIDEO THEY HAVE EVER MADE. As I am sure you have not seen a single one. I want you to remember the blood Islamic terrorists have spilled.

You are not Pontius Pilate. You will not be able to wash your hands of the blood of the innocent that die because you played games with these terrorists. Nor are you going to be the new Jesus. You aren't saving anything or anyone.

I firmly believe that the first CIA agent that looses a family member because of your arrogant, ignorant, and foolish attitude should lead the charge to have you prosecuted.

One of my close friends was stationed in Germany in 1988 and was scheduled to return home to the United States in December for Christmas leave. Just a few years ago he recounted this story to me. He said that the morning of his departure he had set his alarm clock as usual but for some as yet unexplained reason it did not go off. He said that it had never done this before (nor did it ever do it again) and so when he did get up, he had to rush to the airport to try and make his flight.

My buddy told me about the hair raising drive he and his friend made as he was desperate to get home as early as possible for the holiday season. Every day at home, every hour was precious. If he missed his flight that would be just that much less time he'd have with family and friends. Precious time indeed. As it would turn out, he would come to truly appreciate this precious time even more.

After tearing down the road gripping the seats, sweating bullets, and most likely praying for clean underwear, this guy who was used to jumping out of airplanes was pretty glad to have made it to the airport in one piece. Grabbing his bags, shouting a hasty 'goodbye' he scrambled through the airport terminal making a mad dash to reach the boarding area. Racing against that clock, tick-tock

Despite he and his friend's white knuckle race against the clock, that had earlier betrayed him, my friend arrived in the terminal just in time to see his plane pulling out of the gate. Bad timing huh? Sometimes you just can't beat the clock. And sometimes the clock beats you. My friend missed his flight alright but he missed a lot more than that.

His flight was Pan Am Flight 103.

That same flight would be blown up at 31,000 feet over Lockerbie Scotland shortly thereafter, killing all 259 passengers on board as well as 11 people on the ground. My friend, had his alarm clock went off, would have made number 271. The attack was committed by Libyan terrorists using an altitude sensitive detonator.

Now the news today, August 20, 2009 is about one of those terrorists who was the only one convicted in the mass murder of men, women, and children being released from his life sentence in prison. Why? Because this murderous bastard has prostate cancer and he is running out of time. Tick-tock.

An estimated three months to live and the powers that be felt that this “poor man” should be shown mercy and be allowed to go home to spend time with his so called family.

See the sick irony?

Someone or rather some thing, who had no measure of mercy in his heart to blow up children at a nightmarish near 6 mile altitude is being shown mercy because he is running out of time. The clock ticking against him.

Imagine your children, your brother, your sister, mother or father being on that plane. Not knowing that below them in the baggage compartment the very last moments of life were ticking away. Not everyone died instantly by the way. Imagine slamming into a paper thin atmosphere of -60F and realizing that the seat you were sitting in miles in the sky, was no longer there.

Imagine being those people on the ground. In their homes. Watching TV, preparing meals, talking with loved ones. Suddenly and without warning be crushed and burned alive by the falling wreckage of passenger plane, and the remains of its occupants raining down around them. Never realizing that the clock was ticking the whole time.

My God, what have we become that we extend acts of so called mercy to child murdering terrorists? Just to make us feel all warm and cozy inside. So that we can get up in the morning and feel important, like some great humanitarian. Do we think we are buying our way into heaven, by releasing devils upon the earth? There is no humanity in that, and certainly no God.

Well those people are certainly not humanitarians. They're are not compassionate, as they'd like to be labeled for the cameras. They are murderers by proxy. The blood of all of those people is now on their hands too. It seems this terrorist is not the only compassion-less bastard in all of this.

He too thought what he was doing was for a good cause.

I can only hope his last hours are filled with pain and misery. That he becomes so aware of the ticking of the clock he cannot have any peace. He is racing at breakneck speed towards a well deserved hellish death. And when he gets to the terminal, that plane will still be waiting.

I found out moments ago, that an old friend of mine passed away. Funny thing, I never got to look him in the eye. But we knew each other for quite sometime.

He was a good man. A kind person. I never knew his family. Distance kept us from that. But I hope someday, they may find this online. So that they know that Dave's reach was far and respected by many.

He was a rescuer, a guardian, a watcher over people. He was a real hero. He worked in the security field while I knew him. His job was to protect people. But more so, it was his passion. When I knew him, what he did wasn't for money.

But it helped save lives.

The thing is, most people never really know who is out there watching out for them. They may owe their lives to someone and not even be aware of it. I guarantee that was the case with Dave. He never ever sought fame for what he did.

I don't even know if his family knows the extent he went to, to protect our country. And people across the world. He never got the 'thank-yous' he so rightly deserves. But most true heroes do not. Most true heroes are hidden from the limelight. That is part of what makes them a hero. They do what they do and keep it to themselves. That's how you know a real hero.

And Dave epitomized that.

You see, most of us, go about our daily lives. Complaining about the little things. Lost in the drone of reality TV shows, trying to keep up with fashion, worried about who is dating who. Trivial things. Never knowing that their way of life, no matter how significant or lacking, is protected by those 'out there.' The very right to be free. Free to spend your life...

...or waste it.

He was and always will be a hero. And he will be greatly missed not only by me, but by an unsuspecting world. A world that for the most part never knew him. But they all benefited from the fruits of his labor.

When you go to sleep tonight, stop and give thanks for those unseen who are keeping you safe. Keeping you from a world of real monsters and living nightmares.

Rest in forever peace brother. I'm glad I knew ya man. Thanks for being there for me.

A MURDERER SPEAKS FROM HELL

In my recent article, “A Nice Rapist”, I talked about some stressors that individuals who act out violently in one manner or another go through usually prior to the act of violence. Shortly after I wrote this article a shooting at the LA Fitness Center Gym in Bridgeville, Pa occurred. One thing I try to make clear about such shootings is that they are never just the result of someone “snapping.”

In other words, such an individual is never just normal one day then snaps the next. Noted author Gavin DeBecker (The Gift of Fear) says that violence is always predictable. While at first that may sound hard to believe, when you have all the facts prior, it is not. Unfortunately often we may only see certain aspects of a potentially explosive violent person. It is understanding the combinations of the events, stressors, background, and so on about the subject that can give us a full picture of the violence potential of such an individual. Good communication between those who interact with this individual is essential in getting the whole picture and thus enabling us to better evaluate the violence potential of such a person.

I have attained the transcript of the shooter, George Sodini, that he posted online. It is VERY important to realize that all of this information was posted online for more than a year prior to his shooting spree that left 4 dead. Yet no one turned him in.

Before we look at the threat assessment list and compare it to Sodini's online diary, we need to also remember that such shootings are often preceded by a statement that “tests the waters.” I attended the funerals for three teenage girls who were shot down in a Paducah, Kentucky high school early in the mid-nineties. The shooter, Michael Carneal, stated to several individuals that “something big is going to happen Monday.” That Monday, Carneal walked into the high school and opened fire, killing all three girls.

Sodini did the same thing only he did it over and over again. His online diary is almost completely explicit in stating what he was going to do, only he started describing his impending shooting spree over a year ahead of time. While we cannot walk around paranoid, we must walk around prepared. We need to learn to listen to others and be able to analyze what they say and compare it to their situation. Our lives may depend on it.

What follows is one of the threat assessment and evaluation processes I use to assess the dangerous potential of such individuals in threat management.

Behaviors:

Aggressive behavior / violent outbursts of anger

High frustration levels / easily agitated. Seems mad at the world

Controlling / relationship wise / interpersonal interactions / various environments / attempts to dominate yet may feel he has no control.

Doesn’t accept responsibility for actions / blames others

Overly defensive / takes criticism poorly / feels oppressed

Objects to the notion that he is powerless of some situations though in fact he may believe himself to be

Perceives he is threatened / by circumstance / individual / or by “powers that be’

Feels weapons are a considerable source of empowerment

Victim mentality, believes he is ‘always being picked on’ , ‘oppressed’, or otherwise victimized by society

May abuse drugs or alcohol “self medicates” in order to relieve anxiety.

May be anti-social / loner type or may seek out other “outcasts” to group with.

Preoccupation with images of violence / fascination with other violent individuals

Threatens / intimidates

Imposes his will on others / bullying

Degrades others either publicly or privately.

May indicate suicidal or homicidal tendencies overtly or by use of vague references / use of dark humor

Identifies with violent characters in movies, books, or stories

May subscribe to conspiracy theories

Circumstances:

Possible history of violence / criminal record / disciplinary records

Possible history of mental instability / schizophrenia / anti-social disorders / bi-polar disorder / paranoid personality disorders

Exposure to deviant groups or ideology

Poor work record / migratory job record

Inability to acquire proper treatment for mental instabilities

Little or no positive social or family support structure

Limited or inappropriate / effective outlets for stress relief

Deteriorating social / economic / physical health

History of being or feeling bullied

Stressors:

Loss of relationship / divorce / break-up / death

Loss of job / loss of professional status or ranking

Impending legal action / prosecution / possible jail time

Not taking medications for mental stability

Loss of social status

Perceived increase in feelings of persecution

“Why do this?? To young girls? Just read below. I kept a running log that includes my thoughts and actions, after I saw this project was going to drag on.”

November 5, 2008:

“Planned to do this in the summer but figure to stick around to see the election outcome.”

(This is just one of MANY references or hints he makes about “doing something.”)

“I will shoot for Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at maybe 8:15.”

(Here he even specifies a specific date and time he plans to carry out his plan. He does this numerous times.)

“...dress good, am clean-shaven, bathe, touch of cologne - yet 30 million women rejected me - over an 18 or 25-year period. That is how I see it. Thirty million is my rough guesstimate of how many desirable single women there are. A man needs a woman for confidence. He gets a boost on the job, career, with other men, and everywhere else when he knows inside he has someone to spend the night with and who is also a friend. This type of life I see is a closed world with me specifically and totally excluded.”

“My dad never (not once) talked to me or asked about my life's details and tell me what he knew. He was just a useless sperm doner. Result is I am learning basics by trial and error in my 40s, followed by discuragement. Seems odd, but thats true. Writing all this is helping me justify my plan and to see the futility of continuing.”

“Mum - The Central Boss. (Here he gives his mother's address). Don't piss her off or she will be mad and vindictive for years. She actually thinks she's normal. Very dominant. Her way and only her way with no flexibility toward everyone in the household. A power and control thing. People outside the immediate family like her. Why are people vicious with their closest ones? She is the Boss above all other Bosses.”

April 24, 2009:

“Early last month, we had our second general layoff. I survived. First one was in November...is out of proportion to the economic problems at this time. The economy is shrinking by about 4-5%. They decided not to pay Christmas bonus - for staff that amounts to about 8% of yearly pay. Well, OK. Plus no yearly "merit" raise, another 3.5%. That totals to about 11% cut. Plus two layoffs of 5% staff in each case. Do the math. I know this firm is using this downturn as an excuse to take advanage of a bad situation and kill jobs UNNECESSARILY. The second layoff people who actually did work were let go...I predict I won't survive the next layoff.”

The diary goes on for quite some time. But just from the few excerpts we can see that the shooter has MANY of the key indicators prior to the act of violence. Here it is all in writing, available for the whole world to see. Unhidden as often many other cases are. Had someone cared enough or known enough about the threat assessment model outlined above, this shooting could have been preempted. Some even believe that this individual may have wanted to get caught prior to his actions. To get some sort of relief.

Make no mistake, however, This individual, though mentally unstable, was not by definition of the law, insane. He was able to plan out and even control his actions, as evidenced by his numerous posts about planning, keeping a list, and postponements of the attack.

The rest of the online diary continues to grow more and more disturbing. Finally at the very end, a particularly haunting post. Like a voice from the gates of hell...A message to all of us.

“Also, any of the "Practice Papers" left on my coffee table I used or the notes in my gym bag can be published freely. I will not be embarased, because, well, I will be dead. Some people like to study that stuff. Maybe all this will shed insight on why some people just cannot make things happen in their life, which can potentially benefit others.”

I have written NUMEROUS articles about the dangers from Neo-Nazis, Anti-Government, and other extreme right wing groups (and left wing) taking action against innocent people within our nation.

These individuals believe many and various conspiracy theories about the government. Some believe that the government is controlled by Jews. Others believe that the government is in cahoots with a global plan for a one world government bent on taking the freedoms of all people away. Some even believe in far out conspiracies like the government is working with extra-terrestrials to control the world.

Yeah, pretty far out there.

BUT when our own government makes such unconstitutional, reckless, and foolish plans / remarks it only reinforces the paranoia of the extreme right and the extreme left.

It only pours fuel on the fire of paranoia among these groups.

Along with many other issues the government has pushed for lately, whether it is trying to control private businesses, bailing out (and thus holding a share of sorts) in our banks, and so on...the fuel on the fire of paranoia is growing.

Not that these issues are not something to be concerned about, however. Big government leads to dangerous government.

We need to get control of our ever growing bureaucracy, far left propaganda machine ("its a vast right wing conspiracy" "protests against government policy are manufactured"- crowd), and pseudo-fascist movement in Washington. They don't say "you're wrong" rather the government is saying that to disagree with them means that you must be some part of a conspiracy. And everything we (the government) are doing is "for your own good." (That's a tactic of any cult / fascist group / or other government controlled societies.)

Every conspiracy has some basis in truth.

But what does that have to do with my blogs about gangs, violence, and deviant people? The problem I address and how it applies to "violence management" is related to the dangerous people out there that will take all of these things, and use it as justification for violence.

Like Timothy McVeigh who called the victims of his Oklahoma bombing "collateral damage" many other nutbags out there will continue to escalate from the fuel being poured on the fire. They will use it as an excuse to kill.

And consequently, innocent people will get hurt.

Oh, and just because it feeds into the paranoid society, doesn't mean its something to be ignored. What the government is doing is wrong, constitutionally. And it does need to be stopped.

But not with bombs. But with peaceable concerned Americans who have not forgotten our Constitution.

(Dyersburg 7/28/09) As Dyersburg police investigate a possible serial rapist, women demand more information about the crimes.

Police have released very few details because investigators are just now attempting to link three sexual attacks which have occurred since April. Investigators are trying to connect two rapes and an attempted rape -- the latest happening last week. They do not have a good description of the suspect in any of the cases but believe one man may be responsible for the attacks in the south and east parts of town. The victims told police the man attacked in the early morning hours, and wore some kind of mask to cover his face.

The attacker used force, say police, but was not violent and he did not have a weapon. Police have increased patrols, but women say they also want more information to protect themselves.

"Where is it happening? It just scares me," says Dana Eply who wants to know if the victims were alone during the attacks.

Others in the area plan to be more vigilant, but say they don't know what they should be watchful for.

Oh...where to start.
First and foremost I have to go with one of the most moronic statements I believe I have ever seen related to sexual assault. The Dyersburg PD reported that "the attacker used force...but was not violent."

WHAT!!!????????

Not Violent???

RAPE IS BY ITS VERY NATURE A VIOLENT ACT. Who is this guy who stated the attacker was not violent? More frightening, is the fact that someone who obviously doesn't know what the hell he is talking about related to sexual assaults. is involved with this investigation. Oh there's that word, "assault." Usually that is also tied to another word...violence. Force implies the use of or threat of violence itself. If he had no weapon, then how did he get the women to succomb to his attack?

The threat of violence.

I have to wonder which frightens the residents of this small town more, the rapist himself, or the fact that this officer, investigator or whatever his title, would make such an insensitive, ignorant, and uneducated statement and is involved in "tracking the rapist down."

I wonder if someone raped the officer "gently" if he would consider that non-violent.

Dear god...

Second problem. Police waited NINE MONTHS before even notifying the public of this rapist who is brazen enough to break into houses to commit rapes. Maybe if they had reported it after the FIRST rape then the other two wouldn't have happened. Maybe people would have been more vigilant in the first place.

Even after all of this, there is little being told to the public. Now you can buy a subscription to the local paper there, where you will see big bright pictures of homes and gardens in the area but the rapist story barely makes a buzz.

How is it that people are given the title "investigator" when they have no more sense than to refer to a rapist as "non-violent" or leave the story of such an assault(s) conveniently out of the public eye for NINE MONTHS.

Since the police won't try and give people something to look for then perhaps the following could be of use to the public. As an instructor of sexual assault prevention and someone who has worked with both victims and perpetrators, I will try to shed some light.

This rapist is obviously brazen and becoming more so in a progressive fashion.
The fact that he commits these VIOLENT actions in the "early morning hours" means that he is risking getting caught or seen by witnesses who may be up early to prepare for work.

The rapist has a progressive nature.
Rape is not an instant compulsion that occurs just because a man walks by a woman's window. It started as fantasy first. Then it progressed to action. How far were his fantasies is the question. Did he also fantasize about killing the victim, but couldn't bring himself to do it the first 3 times because he was afraid of getting caught? Or when the breaking and entering and then raping of the victims doesn't get him off enough will he need more to be satisfied? Like killing the victim? Rape is less about sex however than it is about control. The rapist likely feels he lacks control in his life. He is a violent person who will use violence as a means to feel a sense of control.

This rapist will most likely show some signs of increased anxiety.
Meaning if he smokes, he may smoke more. If he drinks, then he may drink more. Uses drugs...same thing. If he attends religious services he may increase his participation to make himself feel as though his "sins" are absolved. Conversely he may be more withdrawn than before. Remember, now the public at least knows he is out there. He is no longer completely unimpeded by lack of information. In other words, now the public knows to be more vigilant. After a NINE month delay by the police of course. Consequently this added pressure will increase anxiety and drive the subject to seek relief from the anxiety by whatever means he normally uses to relieve stress.

Prior to the start of the rapes, a "stressor" event likely happened that helped to push him beyond fantasy.
The loss of someone close to him (such as a death or break up of a relationship), the loss of a job or other means of gainful employment, cessation in mental health services if he had them. (A more complete list follows in a moment.)

He may have a history of minor sex based offenses.
Such as stealing women's underwear. Peeping tom complaints. History of grabbing or touching women inappropriately. Making inappropriate sexual comments. He may also have a history of petty crimes. If not full on sexual assault crimes in the past. He may have a history of breaking and entering, robbery, and general theft. He likely also has a juvenile record.

He may have a history of poor relationships with women.
He may also be socially withdrawn, (though this is not always the case.) For whatever reason, he wants to feel superior to women. To "put them in their place." Likely because he has felt like he gets nowhere with them, they are disrespectful towards him, or he comes from the home of a controlling, possibly abusive mother. He has possibly witnessed violence towards women as a means to an end, probably while growing up in the home.

He may make comments that are disparaging towards women, as if he looks down upon them and considers them less than he is.

He may be into bondage type pornography or have a heavier obsession with porn (particularly fetish based) than the average person.

He may find a way to insert himself into the investigation.
Even if only among friends, commenting on what he thinks of the case, in a pseudo-obsessive manner. He may continue to talk about it even when the conversation has moved on to other topics.

He may also exhibit some ongoing inappropriate interactions with women. Such as looking at them in a way that "gives them the creeps." Women will know what I am talking about here.

He now may change his MO. (the way he commits and completes the crime) Meaning he may choose a different time of day / night to commit his acts when he feels people may not be as likely to look for him. However he may not change his routine due to work hours. Depending upon the time of "early morning hours" that the cops won't tell us when, he likely works a second shift or first shift job. If he has a job. He is going to choose a time to commit his crimes when it is most advantageous to him and least advantageous to his victims.

He is likely stalking his victims.
Most likely unbeknown to the victims themselves. Following them in a car, driving by the home, even using the internet. He has to know that he has easy access to the home, including knowing there are no men present who may challenge him. When the woman is most likely to be unaware of his presence until too late. These are not random attacks. He knows his victim's habits. He knows she is alone.

He is comfortable in the areas where he commits his crimes.
He may live in the area or has worked in the area before. He knows the area well enough to know how likely or unlikely it will be that he will be seen. He knows how to blend in.

While many of these behavioral traits may seem vague or even at times contradict themselves individually, keep in mind that , collectively, the more signs someone sees that match this assessment the more closely such an individual should be looked at.

For whatever reason this rapist has progressed. Rape fantasies are nothing new to him. But now for some reason he has decided that the risk is worth it. He needs to rape so bad that he no longer has any qualms about holding back risking getting caught.

He has crossed a line that will not be reversed. He is a predator in the purest sense of the word.

Here is a general list of common stressors of people who commit acts of violence:

*Loss of relationship / divorce / break-up / death
*Loss of job
*Impending legal action / prosecution / possible jail time
*Not taking medications for mental stability
*Loss of social status
*Perceived increase in persecution
*Perceived feelings of being threatened
*Perceived loss of situational control
*Perception of limited alternatives / feelings of hopelessness

But you have to draw the line somewhere, and so the city has decreed that Mr. Clucky -- the bike-riding rooster known for weaving his way through the laid-back crowds at Lincoln Road Mall -- must go. The morning of May 27, a code enforcement officer showed up at owner Mark Buckley's Jefferson Avenue studio apartment, where the bird sleeps in the closet... Someone had complained, presumably about the rooster's habit of crowing every morning at 6 a.m. sharp. The city had to investigate.
The charge: keeping farm animals. The punishment: a $50 fine. Buckley was given 10 days to get rid of the chickens or appeal. But the 54-year-old construction worker who props the bird on the handlebars of his red Schwinn as he -- Buckley, not the rooster -- pedals the beach is not backing down.... If he doesn't pay -- and if Clucky doesn't go -- Buckley stands to receive repeated violations and higher fines, said Fernandez. But arrest is not likely. As for whether the city will go in and remove the rooster by force, Fernandez said that is still being figured out.

Good to see the "neighbors" are willing to call in when there is crime afoot. Better to see that there is no tolerance for breaking the law in Miami. I'm sure the folks who first came up with the neighborhood watch programs would be proud.

Do something about the real crime. Would this neighbor have the guts to call in a real crime? Would the courts and legal system be willing to put as much effort into clamping down on gang violence, dope dealers, murderers, and rapists as they are on the bird?

Or are they just plain chicken?

Do your jobs. Do something about real crime. Seems like chickens aren't the only problem in Miami.

Things that go BOOM in the night

Whether we are discussing the deadly actions of organized crime, terrorists, street gangs, or psychologically impaired individuals it is critical that we understand more about their tactics in order to defend against them.

Bombings. Perhaps the most well known and most used of any terrorist tactic. Car bombs, pipe bombs, letter bombs, IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), bombs laced with poisons, toxins and nails, bombs in trucks, backpacks, in luggage on planes, and strapped to human bodies.

Bombs can be detonated by cell phones, trip wires, booby traps, radio controlled devices, detonators attached to the bomber, altitude sensors, and timers. He / she may even utilize something seemingly innocuous such as remote controlled model airplanes, cars, boats, or other similar devices.

Bombs can be made from military grade explosives such as Semtex, C-4, PETN, hand grenades, mortar shells, TNT, and similar chemicals and devices. They can be high tech devices made from pastes and binary liquids (two inert substances that when combined become explosive.) They can be made from simple ingredients found in the home, store, and local farmer's supply. Many common bombs used by the most sophisticated bombers are made from a combination of fertilizer and some form of petroleum product. Timothy McVeigh used such a bomb.

Bombs can carry extra killing power as well beyond the explosion itself. Many bombers place nails, ball bearings, marbles, nuts and bolts as well as other items that can produce “shrapnel” that upon explosion fly out and kill more victims than simple blast waves and fire. Some bombs can include ingredients such as cyanide or chlorine and other toxins. The ultimate nightmare devices include radiological devices and nuclear weapons. Radiological devices are regular explosive devices with radioactive materials attached to the bomb in solid or more effectively in powder form. Radiological devices cause more than immediate death, the effects can be long term in that those exposed to the radiation may die months or years later from cancer.

Bombs can make terrorist actions safer for the terrorist, if he is not a suicide bomber, in that the bomber doesn't have to be present to kill. While avoiding a bombing can be difficult as it can come without warning and with limited predictability there are some instances where you can improve your chances of surviving some bomb based attacks.

The Unabomber, Theodore Kaczynski, targeted those he perceived as enemies, however it is believed he had no personal relationship with any of his victims. The targets of terrorism are most commonly innocent bystanders, the public, or other groups perceived to be affiliated with whomever or whatever government / ideology / religion the terrorist(s) consider themselves at war with. Then there is also the possibility of simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

What to look for with anonymous or ‘long distance’ bombers:

Unattended packages, luggage, backpacks, briefcases and similar items in places that could be considered of high value for an attack.

Vehicles particularly trucks, vans, ambulances etc…parked in strategic places. Such as in front of official buildings, near support columns of buildings, large public gathering places, or symbolic targets. One possible key to spotting this kind of activity is observing the driver park and then hastily leave the scene without ever going into the building.

Packages delivered with no return address or otherwise unknown senders (unexpected packages)

If you are in an area that could be considered “high risk” ( especially if terrorist activity is expected) such as a large sporting event, a symbolic event, or political / religious gathering avoid these things when possible:

Standing near garbage cans and similar containers less likely to be checked

Standing or sitting in large open areas (without the protection of some sort of barriers)

Standing near objects that could be bombs in disguise (fire extinguishers / boxes / other containers)

Sitting in the center of a bus or even at the front. (suicide bombers most often detonate themselves in the center to do the most damage or prematurely upon entering the bus)

Sitting under a balcony (a bomb in a place such as a theater will most likely be detonated where the most people can be killed by the explosion and consequential collapse of a structure.)

The organizer and designer of the September 11th attacks, resulting in the deaths of nearly 3,000 Americans, has been given a break by our new "feel good" government.

That same man also beheaded, on video, journalist Daniel Pearl.

Our president states that under no circumstance should interventions such as waterboarding be used to get information out of known terrorists. I suppose we are just supposed to sit down have donuts and coffee with them and as a motivator, refuse to give them free refills.

Have we lost our minds?

I have to wonder if Mr. Obama is a hypocryte or a liar.

Does any reasonable person out there believe that if a terrorist knew information that would prevent a Sarin gas attack, a nuclear attack, or biological attack where Mr. Obama's children would be killed, that he wouldn't do anything to get that information out of him.

That's a load of crap.

I can tell you this, we are not in a race for morality. We are in a race for survival. These people DO NOT care about our morals. And they sure as hell aren't going to answer questions about cell locations or attack plans by us just asking them.

If one of those bastards had one of my family members in his group's crosshairs I would peel him like a banana to get the information to save their lives.

I'd do the same for your kids.

Are you honestly convinced that our sunshine and farts feel good administration wouldn't do the same if their kids were at risk. Of course they would.

But evidently YOUR kids, your family, aren't worth what their's is.

We are not impressing anyone. The terrorists and their ilk hate us, not because of our freedoms, certainly not because of our "policies" towards "torture" but because we do not believe as they do. In their minds, it is their god who tells them we are to convert or die. If you don't believe me, just read their damn statements. Its not a big puzzle for some pretentious talking head to figure out.

Putting panties on someone's head may not be all that nice, but it doesn't really compare to slowly sawing someone's head off and placing it neatly on their ass for jihadist photo ops.

I've been waterboarded. Navy Seals are practically drowned as a part of their training. The practice is uncomfortable, and creates a sense of panic. But I'd pick it any day over feeling the warm gush of my arterial blood splattering my clothes and face.

Again, let me restate...

Does anyone really believe that Mr. Obama would not go way beyond water boarding someone if they had his kids hostage or if his kids were in danger of dying a horrible death? If he wouldn't do whatever is needed to get the information, then his ability to lead our country is in serious doubt. I'd also question his parental qualifications.

Evidently the perception of our "values" by Islamic extremists is more important than the lives of your children.

And now with the Taliban threat to Pakistan's nuclear weapons, we may just find out how much our families mean to our government and their idiotic feel good, sunshine and farts ideology.

Today the news media has reported that the Department of Homeland Security has announced that the domestic terrorism threat is becoming more of a priority and growing danger. Some in the media and on the right have had somewhat of a knee jerk reaction to this. Stating that they are afraid that this will infringe upon their rights to protest abortion and related issues.

Nothing could be further from the truth. What these individuals don't realize is the mentality of the very far right extremists that DHS is warning us about. Not conservatives, but radicals. Radicals much like the Islamic radicals we have dealt with for so long.

You may ask why.

What is happening is that the current administration is doing things that feed right into the extremist ideology and paranoid conspiracy mindset. The government's involvement in the banking system, the government getting involved with actual businesses and firing heads of corporations like GM. Reducing or limiting the amount of money that people can make, as in the cap on bonuses and income for the very wealthy. And the government's incessant rambling about how Mexican drug cartels are using guns coming primarily from the US.

While many of these things may seem to lean towards socialism, that is not the point of this explanation of the DHS warning. More readily it makes the paranoid, more paranoid. This, in the minds of the anti-government groups, White Supremacist movements, and related groups, is the fulfillment of their worst nightmare. A takeover of the freedoms of US citizens by an ever growing government.

Debate will rage about the accuracy of these claims among the average person. But there is no debate with the extremists. We should always be vigilant about the state of our government and not allow it to grow out of control. But these groups already believe that the government dark agents are hiding under the beds.

Not only do many of these groups hate whatever political party is in power and fear them due to the conspiracy mindset, but another danger is the great element of White Supremacists and their hatred for a bi-racial president.

Individuals like Timothy McVeigh epitomize this kind of conspiracy minded belief system. The real danger that is growing like a storm on the horizon is the threat of another Oklahoma city.

Or worse.

As I have noted in previous blogs on this site, it is the White Supremacist movement that has come the closest to acquiring and utilizing biological and chemical weapons. Add to this a potential alliance between these groups and those of the Islamic extremist ideology and the problem grows exponentially.

Why would the two work together if each believes the other is inferior?

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

With both ideologies focusing on their own religious beliefs (though not all anti-government groups claim a religious affiliation), they believe what they are doing is for their God. Whether that God is called Allah or Christ. Their targets of “holy” retribution will be similar.

Government buildings, left leaning organizations, right leaning organizations that they feel are “traitors”, and ultimately places of large gatherings, where the casualty count is higher. While the media has had somewhat of a knee jerk reaction to the DHS warning they too should be aware that they are a primary target. Both extremist ideologies believe that the media is controlled by Jews. The people they believe want to rule the world.

Conspiracy theory, radicalized religious or political beliefs, the desire to hate and blame someone or something for their personal woes, and paranoia are just some of the uniting elements between Islamic radicals and and anti-government groups. This making a fertile environment for accelerating violence. And a potential alliance between two forces claiming a holy cause.

Two forces that are anything but holy.

I've tried to keep the blog afloat for awhile now. However at this time, due to some health and related issues, Gang Intelligence Threat Management, will most likely "flatline" if you will.

Hopefully will be able to get back online in the near future. In the meantime, if you stumble across this blog or are a regular reader (if I have any :) ) feel free to look around.

In the years I have worked to help save kids, I have learned that in doing so, it is often the other way around. They have saved me. When a kid tells you, "I wish you had been my dad." That makes all the feelings of futility go away.

These kids are worth it.

In the event that I am no longer able to return to working here or am simply no longer able to return at all from this particularly darker path, I wish to leave you with some thanks and thoughts.

There are lots of old articles that may be of use to you if you are working on papers for gangs or other violence related issues (if you are a high school or college student.)

If you are law enforcement, the same applies. Just use the search feature on the blog.

I am always honored to have some of my work cited in reports etc and much appreciation to all of those who have asked me for feedback on some of these issues.

To our military, I cannot express what you all do means to people like me and others who get to sit back in the comfort of our living rooms and play armchair warriors. Just to name a few...the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia, Philippines, China, Russia, Algeria, the entirety of the Balkans, the Middle East, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Canada, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, parts of central and South America, and the list goes on and on. Terrorist actions, cells, and or sympathizers of fanatical Islamic terrorism are now present in every corner of the globe. Literally encompassing the entire planet.

While not every cell may call itself al Qaeda, most of them share similar ideologies. And they are constantly aligning themselves more and more to defeat their common enemy even if some of their own beliefs vary. And their common enemy?

Anyone who does not believe their version of Islam is the correct one. (And that includes Muslims who practice their religion legitimately.)

People who like to downplay this global war are the same ones that had no idea who Osama bin Laden was prior to 9-11, they have never seen teenage girls with their heads sawed off by Islamic militants because they were on their way to church....the same church where one of their heads would be found sitting on the steps, they have never seen images of a boy no older than 9 having his arm run over by a truck because he stole something and that violated “Islamic law.” They have never picked up pieces of men, women, and children blown apart in bus bombings, train bombings, and building bombings, ALL OVER THE GLOBE, perpetrated by those who literally say that Islam (their brand) should rule the world.

I had a doctor tell me once, “Oh this terrorism thing, won't last, its about over.” That was almost 8 years ago. That doctor has since died. And the war still goes on.

Al Qaeda is no longer just a “group.” It is an ideology. An ideology that has followers or sympathizers to one extent or another on ever continent on this planet.

People who “are just ready for this to be over” are going to be sadly disappointed.

Closing your eyes to the darkness does not make the darkness go away. It just makes you even more vulnerable to what hides in that darkness.

The term World War 1 and World War 2 did not really even emerge until close to the end or after these global conflicts. We get too stuck on naming things. Just because the US, China, and Russia aren't exchanging nuclear weapons does not mean that this is not a world war.

It is a war declared by jihadists on everyone besides themselves. And if you are stupid enough to think that you have no part in it, then you are dead wrong.

If you think that you haven't done anything to incite Jihadist anger, then you are dead wrong. Because unless you believe like them then they consider you the enemy. The devil incarnate. You deserve to die as do your children. And no means is off the table. You forget that, and you are just plain dead.

Most Americans think that the worst school massacre was Columbine. But it was not. Not by a long shot.

It was in Beslan Russia. Where over 360 men, women, and children were held hostage in a gym in a school for several days before being killed by Chechen “rebels” as the media likes to call them. These “rebels” themselves called themselves jihadists and were and continue to be funded and supported with money and manpower from Middle Easter Islamic terrorist groups. They used the Koran as justification for shooting, stabbing, and blowing up children from infants to pre-teens as part of their jihad. They killed Russian children, almost 200 of them, for “God.” When you start to feel “something” for the poor oppressed people that “are driven” to terrorism...look up images from the Beslan massacre. And imagine those see through plastic bags hold your children.

Only a few years back, relatively speaking, Islamic terrorism was limited to the Middle East. Now take the time out from Starbucks and reality TV and use search engines with terms such as “jihad” and any country's name. You will almost always find sympathizers, supporters, and often full blown terrorist organizations in every country on the planet now. All with the nearly the same goal.

You join them or you die.

This war is global and will continue to escalate. Providing “food” or “education” to these people will relieve nothing. It will not stop it. Feeling sorry for their so called plight, which is a lie, will do nothing except provide the throats of relief workers as new flesh to slice for the next jihadist tapes. Tapes where young jihadists in training, 3,4,5 year olds are made to watch as indoctrination. (We tried to provide food and relief to Somalis in the early 90's. It was in fact, al Qaeda affiliated terrorists who kept the food and starved the remaining populace. The same terrorist affiliates who would later engage our troops in Mogadishu as portrayed in Black Hawk Down.)

Many of the terrorist leaders and suicide bombers themselves do NOT come from poor, impoverished, or repressed backgrounds. Many of them are doctors, some are scientists, and many of them have college educations and are not poor. Buzzwords, political correctness, and cliches, and quick fix mentality will not make this go away. EVER.

Jihadists do not do

what they do because of the situation they are in. They do what they do because of WHAT they believe in.

Long ago, bin Laden himself called this World War 3. He declared it. He started it even before 9-11.

And if given the chance by bleeding hearts, ignorant people, apathetic pseudo intellectuals, and the sheepish general populace...

he will finish it and unless we wake up and realize what this really is.

His ideology will win. And it will not matter if he is dead or alive. Others will replace him. Islamic Jihadist terrorism will not end until the ideology does. It does not matter who is the figurehead.

We fight because we have something to live for. The enemy fights not because they have nothing to live for (as pseudo-hippies would have you believe), but because they have something to die for. For them it is paradise to kill. For us it is hell.

Let's Call This War What It Really Is

This article originally appeared in the November, 2001 issue of TALKERS Magazine.

Forgive me for seeming nit picky, but terminology is important - especially when explaining and defining concepts that involve not only life and death, but the very survival of our society and its values, as well.

That is why our use of the label "War On Terrorism" to describe the conflict in which America finds itself embroiled is both disturbing and dangerous. It reeks of the media-manufactured, politically spun logoism that gave us names for such monumental losers as the "War On Poverty" and the "War On Drugs." Let us pray that the so-called "War On Terrorism" does not meet a fate in any way similar to those failed campaigns.

Modern-era 24/7 cable news television has played a role in contributing to the pop-journalistic labeling of serious situations in its zeal to capitalize on the moment (and inarticulate politicians have done little to offer improvement). After all, what good are snazzy graphics and dramatic music if they do not have a catchy title to serve as a centerpiece for the production?

Thank you CNN for giving us "America's New War" (which is sort of like "new and improved" laundry detergent) that was hastily slapped on the screen immediately following the awful events of September 11. How about the title "America Strikes Back" that is currently being used by several key TV news outlets? How invigorating! Here's a tip of the hat to the creative genius of George Lucas for inspiring that nifty gem. Then there's "America's Mission" which gives the whole affair sort of a romantic, adventurous ambiance, like a television series or even a manned trip to Mars. Don't even get me started on the military's contribution to our nomenclature with "Operation Infinite Justice" and "Operation Enduring Freedom." Why don't we just bring back "The War To End All Wars"?

It is vitally important that we articulate concepts as accurately as possible so that we can discuss them with clarity while focusing on our challenge without being side tracked by muddy thinking, irrelevant issues, and collective denial. It is sadly ironic that while our culture has developed the bad habit of wanton hyperbole regarding the description of events, we are seriously (and uncharacteristically) understating the true nature of this conflict with the aforementioned terms and titles. By calling this the "War On Terrorism," we continue to bury our head in the sand. What exactly do we mean by this overly misused word, terrorism? We might just as well call our enemies bogeymen.

What happened on September 11 was not a tragedy (the term we hear over and over). It was an atrocity. Tragedy makes it sound like an accident…an unfortunate situation that we would want to put behind us. Some 5,000 American civilians were murdered in cold blood by a multi-national foreign entity that is on record as being bent on not simply conquering, but actually bringing our nation to extinction. This is far worse than a tragedy. It was the worst attack that America has ever suffered and it clearly indicates that our enemies really are serious! Can you imagine America in the early forties responding to Pearl Harbor by wanting to get "back to normal" as quickly as possible so those pesky Japanese and Germans didn't feel they could disrupt our precious lifestyles? Do you think FDR would have told Americans to react to the situation by going to Disney World? Does the Dow holding its own mean everything is okay?

Just a handful of short weeks ago, the President of the United States went before the entire world and eloquently stated that we are responding to the events of September 11 by going after the perpetrators of the attacks including the individuals that planned and executed them as well as the governments that support them. There would and could be no backing down from his powerful declaration. Officially declared or not, George W. Bush told every nation on the planet Earth, that the United States was now at war on a massive, long-term scale. His words were applauded by a wide majority of Americans and endorsed by the leaders of both parties.

Excuse me, does anyone in the media or government have the guts to call this ugly thing what it really is? Well, here goes: World War III. Like it or not, that's what history will someday call it.

Our generation grew up imagining World War III to be synonymous with Armageddon. We imagined it being a very rapid uncontrolled nuclear exchange between the United States and the Soviet Union (maybe with Red China) that would result in the end of the world, as we knew it. When the Cold War ended and we stopped worrying about mutually assured destruction, somehow we dropped the idea that a third world war could still happen within our lifetimes. Now that we are in the opening stages of the real World War III, we do not recognize it. This is a dangerous lack of perception. We are not fighting shadowy bogeymen. We are at war with real countries and real peoples who use terrorism as a weapon against our superior military muscle. We know exactly who they are and we can name them. So, America, are you really ready to roll?

World War III does not have to be Armageddon. It could actually turn out to be a short war with relatively light casualties (when compared to the first two world wars) and usher in a new era of international peace and understanding. However, if we do not clearly understand what we are dealing with here and address it for exactly what it is, this so-called War On Terrorism will neither go away nor be less likely to escalate into something far more clear cut and hideous.

Nobody wants any information on gangs until someone they care about gets hurt by one. Or until their kid gets involved in one. Until there is a "problem" in their own neighborhood.

Nobody wants to know anything about what makes a person kill their own child until it happens in their community.

Nobody wants to know anything about what makes a person go into a restaurant or a school and methodically shoot people, TAKING TIME TO RELOAD WITHOUT BEING STOPPED BY ANYONE, until it happens to their kid or at a school in their community.

Nobody wants to know how predators choose their prey, how rapists operate, or how to avoid getting brutalized until it happens to them or someone they love.

Too damn late.

By God though let some new information come out about "Brangelina", Britney Spears, or some other "star" then people are foaming at the mouth to buy the latest edition of People, US, or some stupid book written by someone who knows someone who knows someone on the inside.

I used to teach self defense for women and offer it all over my community. I didn't charge outlandish prices like some of these BS over priced seminars you can find on the internet. I only asked for a simple donation of any amount whatsoever and in the process provided those who attended written training manuals at my own expense.

Turn out was usually dismal at best. In fact most of the women who came had already been victims of sexual assault and other forms of violent crime or knew someone close to them who did.

Yeah. Too late.

People spend millions of dollars a year on football games, gossip magazines, and over priced crap clothing to "fit in", like sheep.

That's the problem though isn't it? Sheep are the easiest to slaughter. They aren't paying attention to what's going on around them. They've got their heads to the ground worrying only about their immediate appetites. They have no idea how to protect themselves nor do they care.

Until a wolf begins to rip them apart.

Too late.

I used to give lots of things away and volunteer a lot of time to help people learn to be more safe, to protect themselves. I couldn't bring myself to rip people off by charging $200 bucks for a gang seminar or a self defense class like so many other parasites do. Let me let you in on a secret. They don't have any more information on how to defend yourself or understand gangs than anyone else does.

"Sheeple" see money and assume it must be great. Just like clothing labels. I guess my morals, like always, have prevented me from being some big shot.

No more am I giving out any free information. I've had my stuff stolen and ripped off (once by a woman completing her teaching degree where she used one of my manuals as the bulk of her paper to graduate).

TO BE A TEACHER OF YOUR KIDS.

Our society has become so self absorbed and so easily titillated by immediate gratification that they have become unable to protect themselves or actually LEARN anything on their own. Unless its in a forwarded BS email or on the new messiah, Oprah. Eventually our society will pay for their self absorbed and self centered behavior. The wolves are out there and they do train everyday to kill people. In the training ground violent arenas of their minds, in the deserts overseas, on streets where cops don't go, and maybe in your own backyard. But most people won't care until the wolf has them by the throat.

Leonard Padilla and his nephew, Tony Padilla, said they will arrive in Orlando on Sunday and post a $500,000 bond for Casey Anthony, the mother of Caylee, who has been missing since mid-June.

Leonard Padilla, who hosts a TV show called "Bounty Hunters" on National Geographic, told Local 6 News that he has been talking to Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, about bailing his client out of jail.

"We eat in the same room, sleep in the same room. After a while, these people feel better than sitting in a cell looking at the walls, and they will discuss things that they won't discuss with parents or anybody else," Leonard Padilla said.

The Padillas announced the move in an e-mail to Local 6 News.

The e-mail stated:

"On Sunday, August 17, World Famous Bounty Hunter Leonard Padilla and his nephew Tony Padilla, owner of Tony Padilla Bail Bonds of Sacramento, CA., will be traveling to Orlando with two of Leonard Padilla's associates. Tony Padilla will be posting a $500,000.00 bond for the release of Casey Anthony."

This loon is going to bail out a woman who REFUSES to tell anyone anything about her missing daughter. She refuses to tell the truth about anything. If you've not read the story, you should.

In addition she has lied and lied and lied about everything from where she worked, the existence of a phantom babysitter, to mysterious kidnappers. This same mother's mother, reported that the smell of death she noticed in the woman's car turned out to be "rotten pizza." Then she conveniently washed the clothing in the car that smelled like death.

They waited over a month to report the child missing.

So along comes this "World Famous Bounty Hunter"...yeah that's what he calls himself, is going to bail out this creature in order to "get her to talk." His supposed assumption is that if she is in a better environment, a Jesus inspired miracle will happen and she'll suddenly get a conscience.

I've read countless posts on news sources where people have said that maybe she will eventually feel guilty about what happened.

NO NO NO.

Pathological liars and sociopaths NEVER feel guilty about anything. This same woman who complained from her jail cell about not getting to talk to her "boyfriend" instead of talking to the cops about where her little girl disappeared to is supposed to suddenly feel compelled to talk in the presence of this attention and ratings seeking turd.

Sociopaths and pathological liars are incapable of feeling guilt. Please people before you comment on something, stop viewing other people in the way "you would do it." Bother to research what kind of personality, what kind of behaviors, what kind of brains that sociopaths and pathological liars have.

They can cut a person apart and feel no different than you would cutting a steak. And for you vegetarians, cutting a piece of cabbage.

They are self centered, narcissistic, charming, lying, manipulative individuals who only seek to serve their own interests in life. They are unable to change this behavior. There is no rehabilitation for a sociopath. In short, they are not like most people. They are the closest thing to a monster you will ever encounter. And the majority of them do not kill. You cannot tell me that this is ANYTHING but a grab for attention, an attempt to draw ratings to his TV show. I'd never heard of this guy until this story, which goes to show you that what he is doing is working.

That is a blatant lie. Period. Think what you will about the grandmother but that is a lie. Pizza does NOT ever smell like a corpse. EVER. Just take one and let it set in the trunk of your car for 2 weeks, you'll find nothing more than the smell of grease and pizza "jerky." Pizza lady also says that when this all comes out, Casey will be seen as mother of the year.

Oh my God.

The moronic mother (Casey Anthony) of this missing child didn't have enough sense to shut her stupid mouth up either as her self centered, spoiled mouth ran on jailhouse recordings. Pissing and moaning about wanting her boyfriend's telephone number. If its not her, then the brother is being interviewed and chuckling about throwing out toys for the child (that were donated by well meaning well wishers) that smelled like cigarrette smoke. Yeah, that's what I'd be doing on the news if my niece was gone for over a month...chuckling and telling people that their gifts were thrown in the trash.

The grandmother, the pizza lady, has been aggressive, short, and smart mouthed from day one with the media, then bitches about the media all the time now. When she is not talking about what all SHE'S been through, how tired SHE is, or how SHE hasn't had any sleep she's blaming everyone from the phantom babysitter (that she has never seen) to some sort of anonymous kidnapping terrorists who have yet to send demands for the return of the child. She's also a private investigator now who follows up on her own tips that she doesn't bother to tell the cops about. Oh yeah then there are the sightings all over the country of the girl that she says have to be real, as if the kidnappers have the ability to bend space and time and jump from state to state in a matter of hours. The real problem is not fairy tale phantoms kidnapping the child, its the troll sitting in prison more concerned with partying and banging her boyfriend than finding her little girl.

Then there's the grandfather and his rants against the media. Threatening to "run over" reporters and whatnot. Too bad he doesn't seem to have the balls to use that anger towards his daughter to get her to talk. Rather the whole family seems to say "honey this" or "baby that" trying to sweet talk the only person who knows where the child is.

China: attacks possibly linked to terror groups

Since the assaults began nine days ago, killing 31 people, authorities have been playing down the possible connection with terror groups that may be operating in Xinjiang, a sprawling region of deserts and mountains bordering eight Central Asian nations...

...However, some analysts were skeptical about the claims that terror groups were involved. Yitzhak Shichor, a political scientist at the University of Haifa in Israel, said China effectively crushed the terror networks within its borders in a crackdown that began in the 1990s. The recent assaults "are not the kind of coordinated terror attacks that are being orchestrated by some kind of organization inside or outside of China," Shichor said. "It seems like individual acts of revenge."

A political scientist is now a terrorism expert? Or is he just some quack?

NOT TERRORIST ATTACKS??? Let's see they bombed both police and civilian targets. Just days prior the Turkestan Islamic Party posted videos on the internet threatening attacks on China. What a coincidence! Recycling Rape and Rage...

I have looked into the dead faces of three little girls who were executed in their own school. There was no time while I stood there that global warming popped into my mind. Yet when I look into a trash heap, I still do not think about recycling or global warming.

I think about kids I have known that had to eat out of the garbage to survive.

I just got through looking at the Top Causes page available through an application that is used on Myspace, these are "causes" that people can put on their profiles. The one's about "help join my cause to stop...(insert cause of choice here.) Tell me what's wrong with this picture:

Notice how much more money the global warming people have contributed despite having lower membership? 10,000 members less and around $10,000 dollars more contributed in the Global Warming group.

Fear is a great motivator.

You know its one thing for scientists to debate the causes of global warming. Such as the statistic that humans only generate 3% of the CO2 that causes global warming. (The rest is decaying plant matter etc).

Its quite another when "just because" someone like Al Gore, who is not a scientist, uses someone else's research to win the Nobel Prize, and tours the country in his PRIVATE JET only to return home to his mansion where his light bill every month is more than the average person's light bill is in 17 months...everyone automatically swallows what is pronounced as absolute fact by the media.

Whatever happened to the "doomsday" prophecy that we're all going to die from the hole in the Ozone layer? Nobody even mentions that anymore. In the 70's scientists JUST KNEW that the earth was COOLING...GLOBAL COOLING due to pollution. Yeah they had "proof" of this issue then.

Why does Al Gore's carbon footprint program where donations are eventually funneled back into his pocket not get the attention of the media? If he were a televangelist it would be everywhere.

But really that's not the point at all. Debate it all you want. MOST of you are not scientists and have never done a day's research with data you collected yourself (Google does not count) in your life. So waste your time being "sure" that you know what you are talking about.

But ONE OUT OF EVERY FOUR of you young ladies has been or will be molested by the age of 18.

You think that a debate that still has thousands on both sides each with their own "proof" that global warming is real or not real is more important than abuse, neglect, and rape of children?

Well maybe that's why the earth is warming up. Maybe the planet is getting ready to shake, (the society that abadons its children in place of a "in" cause,) off its surface.

Its disgusting that more money is going into a cause that is still being debated rather than one we KNOW for sure is happening.

You look into the eyes of a kid that has been raped with a broom handle by his own father and tell him that you believe donating money to "stop global warming" is more important than what happened to him.

NONE OF YOU WILL.

We hear all the time about all the doomsday outcomes of global warming. (If only the cows would just stop farting)...things such as the rising of the oceans and subsequent flooding, deadly storms, dying crops, and famine. Do you really think that companies that make billions of dollars a year polluting the air are going to stop? Don't be naive.

FEAR FEAR FEAR. It motivates people to act without questioning anything. Do any of these people who are shoveling twice the amount of money over to the above cause than the child abuse cause actually know where their money is going? Do they have any idea?

How many times have you seen protesters carrying signs protesting global warming? MADE OUT OF CARDBOARD which is made from guess what???

Trees which can help with conversion of CO2 and thus reduction of any warming of the earth's surface.

I don't know if global warming is man made, a natural cycle of some sort, or what. I am not a scientist who is collecting data. But I am someone who is not willing to crap away my money to an organization that I know nothing about where the funds are going.

What I do know is this. I know what it is like to look into the eyes and listen to the voices of children who have been brutalized in ways most of you could not imagine in your worst nightmares. I KNOW for a fact by working with them what they go through is real.

We as a society should be ashamed of ourselves. But we are not, because we'd rather "feel good" thinking we are doing something to "help" the planet.

To hell with the kids who live on it.

You hear all the doomsday prophecies about global warming all the time. Well let me give you a look at the reality of what happens to many abused children. These are REAL accounts of abuse:

• A man shot off a teenage girl's arm for the sexual thrill it gave him.

• A rapist of 13 year old girls preferred to anally rape them on cement floors so it would hurt more.

• A father would use lit candles to cauterize the cuts he would inflict to his daughter's vagina and around her nipples.

• A father who knew his 9 year old daughter was afraid of the dark would tie her to a tree in the woods and allow different rapists to come into the woods and rape her in the night.

A father describes how he abused his son:

"I was putting a large Ziploc bag over his head and taping it around his neck with black duct tape and raping him to the point that he would turn blue, pass out. At that point I would rip the bag off his head, not for fear of hurting him, but for the excitement."

Amber Alert: Dad allegedly kidnaps girl

A 7-year-old, blond-haired beauty and the dad who allegedly snatched her from a Back Bay street during a supervised visit were the focus of an intense police hunt last night, as new details emerged of a valiant social worker’s desperate attempt to thwart the kidnapping.

Boston police said Clark Rockefeller was on a supervised visit with his daughter, Reigh Rockefeller, when he pushed the male social worker and whisked his little girl into the back of a waiting SUV on Marlborough Street at 12:44 p.m. yesterday.

But the determined social worker grabbed the back of the SUV and was dragged along the street for a short distance as he tried in vain to stop Rockefeller from fleeing the scene, police said.

“The social worker started to chase, grabbed the vehicle and was dragged for a short distance. He is going to be OK,” said Boston police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll.

Rockefeller, who police say is in his 50s, allegedly launched the violent abduction as they walked toward the Public Gardens.

Police said the SUV sped toward Berkeley Street and headed for Storrow Drive. A State Police Amber Alert was issued for the girl yesterday afternoon for the girl.

The girl and her mother, who both live in London, had been staying at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston, police sources said.

Boston police said Rockefeller may also be using the names Clark Mills or James Frederick.

An arrest warrant was issued last night for Rockefeller on charges of custodial kidnapping, assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Reigh Rockefeller, whose nickname is “Snooks,” is 4 feet tall, weighs 50 pounds and has blue eyes and blond hair. She was last seen wearing a pink and white sundress and red shoes. She also wears prescription glasses.

Clark Rockefeller is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs about 170 pounds, is of stocky build, has thinning blond hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a blue Lacoste shirt and khaki pants.

The car is described as possibly a black Chevy Tahoe or Suburban or GMC Yukon or Denali with a Red Sox [team stats] sticker on the right rear passenger side and Red Sox license plates.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Reigh Rockefeller, Clark Rockefeller, or the vehicle they are traveling in should call 911 or 617-343-4328 immediately.

They got more money than God

To the best of my knowledge I know of no nationwide network in existence to help get kids out of gangs. So even when they want out but have no family to go to, they are stuck. Where they will most likely die. I also have been criticized for making remarks about how there should be no gang graffiti anywhere near a church if they were doing outreach like they are supposed to.

On any given night in the US it is estimated that there are approximately 1.2 million homeless children.

In the US for people ages between 55 and 64, the THIRD leading cause of death is lack of health insurance.

Statistics vary between 18,000 to 30,000 children starve to death in the world...

DAILY.

But then we have people defending this as God's work:

A 100 million dollar a year televangelist who "specializes" in healing...often by shoving people down and claiming God did it. :

Owns a home with 7 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms (with an oceanside view) that is seven thousand square feet and costs an estimated 10 million dollars. He also has a private jet which costs 112,000 dollars a month to use the plane. He also owns a Mercedes SUV and Convertable estimated at about 80,000 a piece.

He's also known for having "layovers" while on trips where he seems to be fond of expensive hotel rooms. Here are a few different prices for the suites he has stayed in:

990 bucks a night.
1700 bucks a night.
2700 bucks a night.
3124 bucks a night. And are you ready for it? Drum roll please...the most expensive hotel room "Pastor" Hinn has paid for...

10,800 bucks a night. No, I didn't add an extra zero. That must make the homeless kids in our nation feel good. I'm sure he prays for them though.

He also has spent as much as 6 thousand dollars in 4 weeks on clothing shopping sprees. So homeless kids, stay warm this winter the best way you know how.

Then there's Joyce Meyer. She believes that all of us are "little gods" and that what we say, the words that come out of our mouths actually have some sort of magical effect on what happens to us. (Isn't that sort of like witchcraft?)

Her "ministry" stats:
Has a $23,000 chester drawer, which was first reported as being a toilet. (Still not sure what the truth is on that.)
Her ministry brings in about 95 million dollars a year. (Bet she's got good health insurance too.) She and her husband Dave have a "modest" $2 million home, a $10 million private jet, and houses worth another $2 million for the couple's children, who also work for the ministry. Oh and she recently bought a $500,000 vacation home. Pretty sure none of those homes are anywhere near the places where homeless children sleep in the streets.

Oh and she also paid for some cosmetic surgery. Evidently the part of the Bible that says God doesn't look at people like people do, He looks at the heart...well she missed that one. Oh and there's that thing about vanity.

Never mind the kids in gangs that want to get out but can't afford to have their gang tattoos removed. Which just basically says "target" from there on out.

But wait there's more great ministers out there. More shepherds for the lost. More people doing God's work...feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, that old chestnut.

Kenneth Copeland:
He has a four plane fleet of private planes. Yeah I said a godforsaken FLEET. One such plane is estimated to be around 20 million dollars. All of these parked (when not going on vacation) at the "ministry's private airport".

Maybe the homeless kids could sleep on the tarmac sometime when he is off ministering.

Creflo Dollar: (No I'm not making his name up.)
Owns a 2.4 million dollar apartment. AND a mansion, private jet, and at least two Rolls Royces (at last count.) Hey, maybe he can swing by and pick up a couple of kids and take 'em in style to the homeless shelter tonight.

Creflo also says that Jesus was a rich man. (I think someone took that book or page or verse or whatever out of my Bible...can't seem to locate that...) And was featured in a rap video called "money comin'".

Jesus was never on MTV.

So let's review:
Starving children, homeless kids, kids left with few if any outreach choices to get them out of gangs, kids with no health insurance whose grandparents with no health insurance are almost as likely to die from lack of health insurance than they are of cancer. And so on. Of course to hear these men and women of God explain it, if you are faithful to God, you should give to them. And if you don't get that healing you asked for or that financial blessing you asked for, well then you still got some sort of unresolved sin in your life.

And for compare and contrast televangelists vs the guy they are supposed to represent and model themselves after:

Televangelists Living Arrangements:
Homes ranging from 10 million dollars a piece to God knows how much.
Jesus:
Out in the field, staying with friends, maybe a makeshift tent from time to time.

Televangelists' Travel Means:
20 million dollar jets, Bentley's and a couple of Rolls here and there.
Jesus:
Feet. Oh and a donkey once.

Televangelists' Yearly Incomes:
Some up to 100 million dollars or more.
Jesus:
Fish and a few loaves of bread donated by folks here and there.

Televangelists' Hotel Accommodations While Away:
Up to 10,000 dollar a night hotel rooms.
Jesus:
The dirt.

Televangelists' Wardrobes:
(How many of them do you see wear the same outfit twice)...as much as 6,000 dollars in a month of shopping sprees.
Jesus:
Uh...some sandals and maybe a robe with the comfort level of burlap.

That whole thing in the bible about the "meek inheriting the earth", "the love of money being the root of all evil", Birds having nests but Jesus not even having a place to lay his head, or being sure to "store up your treasures in Heaven" as opposed to here on earth, well that section must have been stolen from THEIR bibles.

So whether you believe in God or not or just aren't sure. Don't ask the stupid question, "If God exists why does He let children starve to death?" He doesn't. He's not the one flying around in a 20 million dollar jet sporting Versace, renting hotel rooms that cost more than some of our cars or rollin in a Bentley. Nor is he paying a thousand dollars to go see Mylie Cyrus, a hundred bucks to go to a football game, or $10,000 dollars for a handbag. God doesn't let children suffer and starve to death.

We do.

Myspace "security" found this photo too "offensive" for me to use as a profile image. It "violated" their terms such as cyber-bullying (Do these idiots actually ever read ANY of the blogs on myspace?), terms such as violent images (Never mind that this is demonstrating the dangers of underestimating gang violence and showing how simple analysis works / oh, and especially never mind that there are THOUSANDS of Myspace sites out there with guns as layouts, gang flags and scenes as layouts, violent and bloody Gothic images as layouts and so on), and they also have terms against nudity.

Oh you mean like pictures of women stripping onstage, open mouthed incestuous kissing between a mother and daughter stripper and so on? A simple search engine using "burlesque" and "Myspace" turns up site after site after site.

Who are these IDIOTS working as Myspace security? Are they like the fat guys at the mall walking around like Barney Phife with their little flashlights and radios?

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME.

Just do this. Google the word "Crip" and "Myspace" and see how many profiles you can find promoting the Crip lifestyle. You will find hundreds if not thousands. You can do that with any gang name.

So I have to wonder what was the motivation? Does Myspace have some gang member working as part of their "security team?" Why would they pick that image out of all the pseudo-porn, gang violent images, and death backgrounds to single out?

The Myspace blog I have promotes education about gang and other violence issues just like this one does. It promotes gang intervention and protecting young people from violence. But some idiot on their team decided that the above picture might be offensive. Can this jackass read?

There are pictures of underage kids drinking, running around barely clothed, and promoting gangsterism all over Myspace. Where are the security teams then?

Hmmm....one has to wonder. If they were to actually follow their own rules and delete every account that features such things, just how many profiles would they have left? Myspace exists not because someone "cares" so much about friends keeping in touch...its the advertising.

Get rid of hundreds or thousands of sites and your advertising potential goes away. Just like everything else you have to wonder just where money must figure into the picture.

I can tell you this. If Myspace wants to continue to make issues out of things that are meant to decrease violence and victimization of our youth and pick out those they feel won't fight back then they have a long road ahead.

Just like YouTube will take down material they consider offensive, like some fetish video where a woman steps on a bug yet they leave up thousands of jihadist videos featuring our soldiers getting blown up as entertainment you have to wonder what the motivation is really.

Oh but let's not forget Myspace has its terms. Its "security measures". You know like you have to be a certain age to have an account. No one would ever be able to lie on their profile though could they?

These "Mayberry" wannabe cops I suppose have to remove some things sometimes to actually look like they are doing their jobs. I just hope that the powers that be behind Myspace don't actually pay these idiots for their work.

I'm going to let this one go this time. But if I am harrassed again by these morons I will make it my personal mission to inundate their "report image violation" boxes. Wouldn't it suck for the Myspace "empire" to crumble due to all the porn, violence, and predatory opportunities they allow for child molesters to make CNN's headlines with a major lawsuit by a bunch of motivated concerned citizens?

One statistic from a couple of years ago mentioned that there are over 29,000 REGISTERED sex offenders on Myspace. What is Myspace doing allowing sex offenders to create Myspace accounts? These are the moronic sex offenders dumb enough to even get caught. Imagine how many other predators they have using Myspace as their personal shopping center for the rape of children.

It figures really. Someone tries to do the right thing, to do something good and there's always some SOB trying to throw a wrench into it. While allowing ungodly and unholy filth and violence to go on.

The hoodlum in the photo holds a shotgun and claims to be a 17-year-old Tacoma gang member. He's draped in blue and uses "East Side Rebels" as his MySpace.com screen name, referring to a Tacoma street gang.

His Web page links to numerous others depicting self-described gangbangers from Seattle and Tacoma. They display photos of young men pointing guns at the cameras and flashing hand gang signs, some hiding their faces behind rags in gang colors or hoods.

One 20-year-old Tacoma man with a blue rag tied around his neck congratulates his friend online for beating up someone in a recent fight:

"I hope your hands feel a little better. I will get the video to you of what you did to that guy. Keep it up babe boy."

Street gangs nationwide are taking their turf wars online, using personal Web sites and social networking sites such as MySpace to showcase illegal exploits, make threats and honor killed or jailed members, The Associated Press recently reported.

"Net banging" is the term that authorities have coined for the trend.

Gabriel Morales, a Seattle-area specialist in gang culture who leads training sessions for law enforcement officers and at-risk youths, said gang members find the Web appealing for the same reasons child predators do -- one being it's difficult to police.

"Local kids are doing the same thing. It should be a concern for parents. Some of the stuff they're putting online could be harmful for their kids," Morales said.

"Sometimes they get on there and start dissing each other on the Net, and that can lead to real violence. That's another concern."

George Knox, director of the National Gang Crime Research Center, said he has trained hundreds of police officials in how to cull intelligence on gang membership, rivalries, territory and lingo from these Web pages.

"In order to understand any subculture, be it al-Qaida, witches, devil worshippers or gangs, you have to be able to know their own language," Knox said.

But most of the talk he sees online isn't from hard-core gang members, he said. Much of it spews from so-called wannabes, who use the Web to fantasize about violence.

"A lot of them are kids just messing around," he said.

Gangs once only roamed the streets of big cities but now can be found in 2,500 U.S. communities, according to the FBI. Police departments suddenly faced with the unwelcome arrivals are looking for help anywhere they can get it, including the gangs' own easy-to-find Web sites.

The tendency for gang members to brag about their exploits on Web pages such as the popular networking site MySpace.com has in some cases helped investigators make arrests.

Pierce County sheriff's investigators used MySpace.com earlier this year to solve an assault case involving two teens who filmed themselves pummeling a high school student. In the video footage posted online, the main suspect identified himself and faced the camera while racking a round into a shotgun, which helped investigators track him down, spokesman Ed Troyer said.

The case wasn't gang-related, but the clip was posted on MySpace, which has helped authorities in gang cases, Troyer said.

"The one thing going for us always through the years is that young people -- kids -- have an inability to keep their mouths shut. This is just another way for them not to keep their mouths shut," Troyer said.

In Seattle, the Internet hasn't played a significant role in the investigations of a special gang task force headed by the Seattle field division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, ATF Special Agent Julianne Marshall said.

The ATF's Violent Gang Task Force was formed last year and includes federal agents and a Seattle police detective. A King County sheriff's detective soon will be added, Marshall said.

"It hasn't been a part of any of our investigations that we've addressed so far," she said. "But it is something (we) monitor."

Deputy Tom Ferguson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department's gang investigation unit has identified a number of graffiti writers who used a public Web site to post photos of themselves in front of their work.

"Maybe they think we don't look at it," Ferguson said, "but we're out there gleaning information on them."

MySpace.com representatives could not be reached for comment.

The local gang scene is a fascination for one MySpace tenant, a self-described 25-year-old Seattle college student who calls his Web site "Northwest Gangs." His online profile claims he's researching street gangs and invites members to join his network of MySpace "friends."

He claims to have cataloged 325 gangs in Washington and has links to numerous self-avowed gang members' profiles on MySpace.

Knox, of the National Gang Crime Research Center, said it's important for police to learn how to read between the lines on gang Web sites and blogs. Just as time on the streets has given gang investigators the ability to read the hieroglyphics of wall graffiti, time on the Web helps them understand arcane Web clues. Gang identifiers, such as tattoos, graffiti tags, colors and clothing often are embedded in each site.

"You can study gang blogs and, an hour or two into it, pick up on subtle word choices," he told the AP. "These are holy words to them."

Knox and others fear gangs are using the Internet to recruit new members, who can be influenced by the secret handshakes, clothing and slang of gang cultures.

Morales, the Northwest gang specialist, said he hasn't heard of many gang members who were recruited online. That still mostly has to happen in face-to-face meetings. But gangbangers might use online banter to befriend individuals and invite them to parties, where recruitment takes place.

Attorneys General Demand MySpace Give Up Sex Offenders
The top law enforcement officials in eight states are demanding that MySpace identify the sex offenders it found in a search of its user rolls inspired by my report on MySpace sex offenders last year.

Last October, I reported how I used a Perl script to screen-scrape the Department of Justice's National Sex Offender Registry and run all the names and ZIP codes through MySpace's search engine. The result was 744 verified matches from half the search results -- 497 of them with convictions for crimes against children. One of them was actively trolling for underage boys, and was arrested as a result of my investigation.

MySpace responded in December by announcing that it was hiring a background-check company called Sentinel Tech Holding Corp. to conduct a similar search, using a new, custom database containing height, weight, eye and hair color, and the complete offense history of each perp. Now word has leaked out of Sentinel that, as a result of the more advanced search, "thousands of known registered sexual offenders have been confirmed as MySpace members," according to a letter to MySpace (.pdf) signed by eight attorneys general.

If true, this dramatically exceeds the report from Wired magazine, which found 744 registered sex offenders with MySpace profiles. Perhaps thousands more sexual predators -- not registered or using fictitious names -- are lurking on your web site. We remain concerned about the design of your site, the failure to require parental permission, and the lack of safeguards necessary to protect our children.

We therefore request the following information: First, how many registered sex offenders in the Sentinel database have been cross-referenced against MySpace's membership? Second, what is the exact number of known registered sex offenders who have been identified as members of MySpace to date? Please forward a list of the names of the registered sex offenders that you have identified with profiles on MySpace and the states in which they reside. Third, what steps has MySpace taken to alert law enforcement officials as well as MySpace users of such sex offenders? Finally, what steps has MySpace taken to remove sex offender profiles and how many have been removed?

All good questions. But I don't know why the AGs want the names of the sex offenders -- it's not yet illegal for a former sex offender to be on MySpace. The social networking site had planned to ban all the sex offenders it found, so maybe law enforcement hopes to investigate them first, and bust any recidivists before MySpace scatters them to the four winds.

The letter is signed by the attorneys general of Connecticut, Georgia, Idaho, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania. It asks MySpace to respond by May 29th.

Update: In a statement, MySpace told El Reg: "We are in the initial stages of cross referencing our membership against Sentinel's registered sex offender database and removing any confirmed matches."

No word on why it's still in the "initial stages" five months later.

A WRITER on Muslim terrorism in the United States claims that Myspace is the latest recruiting ground for al-Qaida backed groups.

Laura Mansfield, who has penned "One Nation under Allah" which includes her "undercover work" in US mosques to establish the terrorist threat in small town America, has suddenly focused her attention on MySpace.

She is "concerned" that some web pages seem to show American kids backing the likes of Osama bin Laden and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, British jihadist Abu Hamza, and the 19 September 11 hijackers.

Mansfield spits tacks at one bloke who has an audio link which she says sounds "absolutely Hitleresque".

MySpace has a list of what she calls his "social network" which Mansfield claims to show that he has disturbing friends one includes Rashid Ali whose activities include reading Quran and hadith, Training Hui (Chinese-Muslim) kung-fu, Makoto-Ryu aki-jujitsu, and muay-thai-kick-boxing, NiNjitsu, Penjat-Silat, escrima:Kali/JKD and target shooting. So clearly he has no time to be a terrorist.

With fairly typical over concern Mansfield takes the case of one bloke who tells the site that when he grows up he wants to be a martyr for Palestine.

She didn't visit some of the other sites on MySpace where most of the teens seem to want to die or pen long odes about being buried alive while their friends play Marilyn Manson. She also failed to see how a lot of the comments were from young guys who listen to a lot of rap music. One of her so called terrorists specifically mentions that his group is not interested in any religious war.

Mansfield contacted the FBI over the websites and was told that they were all protected by the US constitution which allows everyone to have a view, even if it does not agree with hers. It doesn't mean that any of them are going to do it.

The holocaust may have ended with the close of World War 2. But if some have their way, that one was only just the beginning.

Those haunting words are not from some foreign extremist bent on bringing down the US government from outside. But from those who reside within our own borders.

If you think the violent days of the Klan, Nazis, or other white supremacist movements are over, you are greatly mistaken. While for over 7 years, al-Qaeda has dominated the terrorism news, we should not forget the first terrorists on American soil were not from “over there.” But over here.

The insurgency not only exists in places like Iraq, but silently, in places like Michigan, Texas, Ohio, and most states in the US. At this time the level of violence is subdued, but not unheard of. The violent potential of Neo-Nazi / white supremacist movements is like bubbling magma just under the surface of a paper thin ground.

For some time we have heard speculation of al Qaeda’s desire to utilize Islamic extremists that do not “look Middle Eastern.” However it may be easier than that. Besides homegrown al Qaeda sympathizers, those we would least expect to become a part of an al Qaeda funded terrorist plot, may not only be white but non-Muslim. While ideologies are different, their focus, their enemies are the same.

Conspiracy theory, paranoid driven, belief that the Jews are out to dominate the world and control the government are shared by both al Qaeda, their affiliates, and the majority if not all of the white supremacist movement.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

As far as we know, al Qaeda has yet to make a noteworthy attempt to poison Americans on their own soil with nerve gas, Ricin, or some biological weapon.

Not so with the white supremacists.

-White-power interest in bioterrorism goes back to the early 1980s, when movement leader Bob Miles gave one group called the Covenant Sword and Arm of the Lord a barrel of cyanide to poison a major city's water supply.

The FBI arrested Lavy in Arkansas, and he hung himself in jail before anyone could figure out what he was up to. That same year, a Minnesota woman went to the cops complaining her husband had leveled a shotgun at her. She told of a stash of poison, which on investigation also turned out to be ricin, meant for U.S. marshals who seized a friend's property for tax violations.

Myths of Sexual Violence

Working with my friends at www.gangstyle.com I often receive emails from young ladies who have suffered the horrible crime of “date rape.” The accounts are startlingly similar. Most of the accounts involve the use of date rape drugs like Rohypnol. Also known as “roofies.” For the victims I can only offer a word of care and guide them in how to take legal action and seek out counseling. For the victimizers I can only hope that what they have sown to the wind will be reaped in the whirlwind. Those that have stolen from these ladies what no one has the right to take, perhaps someday when they are caught, they too will learn, the hard way, what that feels like. Shortly after lock up.

There is an email that circulates, one of those “forwards” that talks about what rapists look for. Such as women with long hair and clothes that can be removed easily. Nonsense. If you’ve had the internet very long, you’ve likely already seen this one. The alleged research in the email is a complete falsehood. Don’t take defense lessons from forwarded emails. Rapists do not care what your hair looks like, what you are wearing, what you look like, or how old you are. Rape is about power and control. It is not about sex. Sex is only the vector that these weak and pathetic parasites utilize to gain a feeling of power over the impotent circumstances of their sorry excuse for a life. What follows are some common rape defense myths.

Above all, if you go to a party, DO NOT leave your drink unattended. Not even for a second. DO NOT accept “gift” drinks from some man. Don’t think that just because you think you know a guy, because he “seems” sweet, because he’s a friend of a friend, that you can trust him. The majority of women I have consulted with online through the Gangstyle website reported that they were raped after being drugged. The simple fact is, most women are raped by someone they know.

Always be aware of your surroundings and who is in them.

In the terrible event you should find yourself a victim of this kind of crime. DO NOT blame yourself. No matter what you say or do, no one has the right to put their hands on you without your direct and explicit consent. Even if you change your mind about sex and tell them to stop, they had better, or else it is rape. Report the crime immediately. Do not bath or wash yourself as this can remove vital evidence that can be used to prosecute the criminal.

Common Rape Defense Myths:

Just Run Away: Of course if this is a viable option by all means do it. But keep in mind some things about running away. Studies by the LAPD show that criminals will elude the pursuing officers if they can keep up the sprint for over 200 yards. Can you sprint 200 yards? Run, not power walk or jog. If you fail and the predator catches you at the 150 yard line, will you have enough strength to fight back? Not so much running, but escaping is your best option.

If you can successfully run to a crowd, public place, or police station in less than 200 yards and in a distance your cardiovascular system will endure, by all means do it. If not, and there is a high probability the attacker will be able to out pace you, then you must first INCAPACITATE the attacker. Escape can mean damaging the attacker enough first, so that he cannot actively pursue you. It can also mean using strategy such as running a short distance into a crowd, police station, or inside your vehicle, (if possible.) Keep in mind that by your natural defensive instincts you will want to flee, this is why it is vital to learn and train for self defense. To get your brain to function with not only fright and flight mechanisms but with a FIGHT mechanism. Run if you can, but think carefully about it. "Just " running may not be enough.

You should vomit, defecate, or urinate on yourself: Yes, some ‘experts’ recommend this as a viable tool for rape defense. Be advised, even if you can mentally force yourself to do these things on cue, there are plenty of demented individuals who would find this even more arousing. This tells them that you are in such utter fear that you cannot control your bodily functions. Fear, domination, manipulation, and control are key components of a rapist’s drive. By doing something as foolish as this, you may have only increased his desire to rape you.

Just Yell “fire”: The first thing he will likely do is slam his fist into your mouth. Likely no one will respond as the rapist is generally clever enough to “make sure the coast is clear” before he begins his assault. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t yell. Something, anything, even “fire.” But putting all your eggs in one basket, “Just” yell fire, may be dangerously ineffective if this is the only tool in your self defense kit.

Buy and carry Body Alarms: These handy little items are junk. Sold by people who lack even the common sense to understand the dynamics of assault. The first thing the predator will do is rip it out of your hand and stomp it to pieces. Like car alarms, people will likely ignore the whistle anyway, if there are even people within hearing range.

Total dependence on any “gadget”: Mace, pepper spray, and stun guns can all be useful tools and are always better than nothing. But totally depending on any tool such as these or any one tactic for that matter can have serious repercussions. Tools break. Some people are resistant to pepper spray, especially those who may be high on drugs or severely mentally impaired. You should always have a back up plan.

Telling them you have AIDS, some other venereal disease or are pregnant: So what, he may have AIDS as well. This is an individual who is intent on raping you…do you really think he will care if you are pregnant or not? Furthermore, then he doesn’t have to worry about impregnating you. Or he may choose to rape you orally. Most likely he will believe you are lying.

Talking your way out…appealing to his humanity: This is a rapist. Get over it.

“Kazmierczak was a student about 175 miles away at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, police said, and there "were no red flags" warning of any violent behavior.” –From a newspaper article.

There are always red flags. Sometimes people just don’t recognize them. In the coming days, watch, you’ll begin to see more reports of anomalies in this person’s behavior.

Here’s one, from the same article:

People close to Kazmierczak indicated that he was taking medication but had recently stopped, "and he had become somewhat erratic in the last couple of weeks," Grady said.

But in another news article Police Chief Grady contradicts himself:

"We had no indication at all that this would be the type of person to engage in this type of activity."

``There were no red flags,'' Grady said. ``

There are always red flags.

It may turn out that the medication had nothing to do with mental health. But with Mr. Grady combining the two elements of the statement, “off his medication” and “somewhat erratic” we have to wonder why he would link the two statements if medication were not somewhat suspect.

Only those closest to this shooter will be able to reveal things that are not readily available on the surface. More people need to be trained on what to look for.

No one EVER just snaps.

I want to join "a real gang"

Recently I received an email from a young person inquiring about joining a gang through the Gangstyle website. (Gangstyle is an outreach program for youth involved in or at risk for gang activity.) http://www.gangstyle.com/

In his words, "I want to join a real gang." What follows is my response, which I think may be applicable for many inquisitive young people.

If you decide to join a "real gang" there are some things that you will need to understand.

First you will be joining a long list of young people that have written to us here at Gangstyle pretty much on a daily basis, asking us how to get out of a gang. Not new kids, but OGs and long timers. Too scared to leave the ones who supposedly love them. Love doesn't threaten to kill you if you change your mind.

I mean kids and young adults who are trapped in something that turned out to be something they never expected.

Like the girl who joined one of the nation's largest gangs as a teenager. She was shot at the age of 16, watched her cousin die in the street and is now no longer able to have children. That was the price she paid for joining a "real gang."

Or another who joined another supergang and spent two weeks in ICU after being jumped in. She now is living day to day hiding from those who claimed to have love for her out of fear of being executed for not sticking with them. Drowning her despair in drugs and alcohol. Slowly dying.

Then there is the kid I worked with several years ago. A talented and kind young man with a great deal of potential. A smart kid who could have made something out of life besides ducking the law and ducking bullets.

He couldn't duck the bullets that well though and is now decaying in a grave somewhere. Never to return or get a second chance.

There are others too, existing as a living corpse on continuous life support because of a bullet. And more trying to avoid being stabbed, beaten to death or raped on a daily basis in prison for the remainder of their lives.

You have the freedom to do what you want. You can join a "real gang" but know what you are giving up.

If you have a family you will be giving them up. Maybe to a drive by and most certainly to any freedom of them being able to walk somewhere without the fear of being killed because of YOUR membership in a gang.

You should know too that the streets you will be fighting for, your "territory" will NEVER be yours. You may bleed and die in them but that concrete and asphalt will never really belong to you. That's an illusion.

So if you want to give your life up to modern day slavery for a few bucks or some so called brotherhood that will kill you if you don't do what they say, then go ahead.

I just believe that people should be well informed of what they are getting into.

Do you want to join to make money? Be sure that you at least get about 10,000 dollars and set it aside in a savings for funeral expenses too. Plus you'll probably need some bail money from time to time before you hit the grave or hospital.

You were not created to be a slave to some adult's set of rules regarding what you can wear, what you can eat, say or do. Know that the adults who run the gangs will not pay for your funeral, they will not provide money to take care of your family after you are gone, and they won't waste their time visiting you in jail. They'll gas your head up and get you to commit "for life". Then blow your head off if you think for one minute that you can leave without consequences.

When you are gone they'll just find another person to make them some money and make them famous while being able to avoid jail because they can blame gang activity on you.

That's gang life. Which is no life at all. Whatever your situation joining a gang won't solve anything. And it can and will take everything you have, including your soul.

We hope you will reconsider.

God can keep you safe. But not if you choose to ignore the gift of life He has given you. Not if you choose to take your life and put it in the hands of someone else who will then promptly take what life you have and throw it in the trash heap of discarded young people.

Conspiracy’s Bloody Path

The Witch Hunt of the New Century
In Salem anything bad that happened was blamed upon someone practicing witchcraft. Of course there was always “evidence” to back up these claims, enough for a court of law to have people brutally executed.

In the dark ages gremlins were the cause of all kinds of problems too. In ancient times gods of all varieties were responsible for the plagues and blessings of man.

The sun circled the earth.

All of these and many other beliefs were once supported by “evidence.” Most were promoted with paranoia, fear, and plain ignorance. Conspiracy theories of today are essentially the same kinds of beliefs using the same distorted forms of logic wrapped in new clothes. However, as with the witch trials of Salem, the inquisitions of Spain, and even the crucifixion of Jesus Christ (for treason, blasphemy, and the conjuring of demons) conspiracy theories can lead to the slaughter of innocents. They are not always simply harmless viewpoints. Often, history shows us, they can be drivers for genocidal behavior.

Jim Jones and the People’s Temple

Untrammeled by the constraints of US society, Jones' paranoia developed here in full. He saw enemies in the CIA and the FBI who he claimed were trying to destroy the Temple, and even sometimes in Guyanese officials.

Jim Jones, leader and founder of The People’s Temple used conspiracy and paranoia as a driving and unifying force behind his delusional ministry. One that would eventually lead to the deaths of almost 1,000 people. Does his conspiracy sound familiar?

Like other paranoids, Jones used “the threat” as a means to unify and brainwash his followers into believing only him, and questioning his version of the truth could be met with harsh punishment. This “threat” is used by nearly every dysfunctional group to keep the group together. The difference from one group to the next are the players in the “threat.”

Jones was also able to produce “evidence” for his beliefs. Evidence that apparently was pretty convincing to those who followed him and eventually those who he would murder, including women and children.

Aum Shrinko

A Japanese apocalyptic cult released Sarin gas on subway trains in Japan in 1995, killing 12 and injuring 5,000. Their idea was to kill thousands and usher in the apocalypse and starting a war between the US and Japan. Like many other such groups their philosophy is laden with conspiracy beliefs.

Timothy McVeigh

In 1995, Timothy McVeigh built and detonated a truck bomb outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City killing 168 people, including 19 children in the building’s daycare. McVeigh was fond of the book, The Turner Diaries which was a fictional account of a race war and governmental conspiracies.

While McVeigh was not known to be an active militia member, he was reported to have been interested in some elements of the movement, which often espoused conspiracy based beliefs that the government of the United States is secretly conspiring against the American people.

Interestingly, while McVeigh’s anti-government conspiracy beliefs played a major role in his attack on the federal building, more conspiracies arose surrounding the event after McVeigh’s arrest. Other paranoids began to claim that McVeigh’s act of terrorism was actually supported or perpetrated by the US government itself. An ironic twist for McVeigh indeed, to not be recognized as the “freedom fighter” he fancied himself to be and rather labeled as part of the conspiracy he supposedly fought against. As with other conspiracies more pseudo-scientists and laughable “experts” claimed that the bomb McVeigh used would not have taken the building down in the manner that it did. Conspiracy dictated that more explosives must have been used, while common sense would not be allowed to ask the question, “If the amount of explosives was not enough, why wouldn’t he simply make a larger bomb?” The same “experts” sound frighteningly similar to the 9-11 conspiracists in that they believed that demolitions must have been planted within the building itself.

McVeigh’s partner in the bombing, Terry Nichols, attempted to claim that the FBI was involved with the entire incident. Like any other coward trying to dodge conviction and accept responsibility Nichols claimed that the government was directing McVeigh in his exploits.

When McVeigh was arrested it was reported that he was wearing a T-shirt with the motto: sic semper tyrannis, the words shouted by John Wilkes Booth after he shot Abraham Lincoln. Translation being: Thus always to tyrants.

The same overblown and outlandishly complex “the government did it” plot is regurgitated over and over again with each new generation of conspiracy theorist that comes along.

Al Qaeda and other Islamic Extremist Groups

Islamic extremists believe that the West in cahoots with the Jews are seeking to destroy Islam. This underreported conspiracy theory is so prevalent that many Muslims in mainstream society unaffiliated with extremists believe that Jews are to blame for the woes of the Middle East. Not much more than an extension and revision of Hitler’s paranoia laden rhetoric about Jews being responsible for Germany’s poor economic and social conditions, the Islamacist views Jews as subhuman.

The accounts of murder and genocidal acts against westerners, Muslims that don’t subscribe to extremist ideology, and anyone else on the globe that aren’t considered “faithful” to the cause of this brand of Islam are too many to mention and ongoing on a daily basis. Contrary to some far left ideology, the “policies” of the US are not the primary focus of Islamic extremists.

It is ironic that so many conspiracy theories abound about 9-11. When the actual trigger for the attack was itself based in conspiracy beliefs.

It is the belief that Jews are out to destroy them and that the United States is controlled by Israel. If the extremists want to destroy Israel, and they do, then they must first make the US unable to stop them. Time will tell how many will die from this cancer of conspiracy. Especially as these paranoid beliefs in “god’s support” of the cause drive them to seek and use nuclear weapons or something like smallpox.

The Next One

As more and more mentally ill people subscribe to the conspiracy theories of 9-11 it is inevitable that this paranoid propaganda will influence another McVeigh type to take action. While some people enjoy a good conspiracy theory for the fun of it and others are out to sell videos and books, some wholeheartedly are adding fuel to an already burning fire of rage and paranoia. Like the Islamic extremists place the blame of the condition of their society on the West and on the Jews, some loner or worse some semi-organized group of individuals with nothing to lose will inevitably make their move to “fight back” against their nightmare vision of some secret cabal. Whether an apocalyptic cult feels that attacking the government and or the populace will somehow usher in the return of the Messiah or bring about the fall of some perceived Anti-Christ the likelihood of this disease of logic absent mentality causing the deaths of innocents grows each day.

Conspiracy laid the foundation for the extermination of 6 million Jews during the rise of Nazi Germany and subsequently initiated World War 2 and spawned the deaths of over 50 million people. It is not a harmless ideology. Nearly every genocide is built upon some paranoid belief that the “enemy” out there is coming to undermine and destroy.

As it stands the Anthrax attacks of October ’01 appear to have been perpetrated by an individual or individuals with an anti-government agenda. Neo-Nazi groups have also attempted to utilize biological and chemical weapons on US soil before being stopped by the authorities. The conspiracy theory driven paranoid laced mind is becoming more committed and adept at finding new ways to bring the war they have created in their own twisted fantasies to the real world.

What may seem as harmless conjecture of the paranoid few has the potential to become the next Oklahoma City, Jonestown, 9-11, or World War 3. The conspiracy theorists themselves may transform into a type of disorganized but dangerous conspiracy of their own.
One not of men in black suits hiding under the bed or secret agents listening to our phone calls. One not of pipe bombs or truck bombs. The next attack may not only spill the blood of government officials but may spill into the lives of everyday Americans. The next conspiracy driven attack may not come with the thunderous explosion of homemade explosives but with the faint breaking of glass.

Oh yeah. These are the people who according to some, we are supposed to be able to sit down with and negotiate like reasonable people. These are the people who are supposed to be mad at us for our “policies”. Policies don’t make anyone use mentally retarded people to do the work they are too cowardly to do themselves. Bin Laden and his sheep sit back in safety demanding that everyone else blows themselves up. Yet one of his big shot leaders, Khalid Mohammad (the supposed mastermind of 9-11) surrendered without a fight several years back. He’s the one in the pictures that looks like a fat broke Ron Jeremy. Some jihadist huh? My what brave warriors. Why didn’t he martyr himself? Why did bin Laden run, like a squealing pig, from Tora Bora? Why do these idiots think that an all powerful God would need men, women, and children to do His cleansing for Him? Seems to me that in their actions they are calling their own God weak. Why can’t these jihadist sheep ask themselves these kinds of questions?

If they know no one is going to search these women then why would they not use them more and more to kill people? Your religion is your business. But when it puts at risk my friends, my countrymen, my family, then it becomes my business.

Yeah they’re just freedom fighters. What a noble cause. They rip their clothes off wailing in the street when one of our bombs misses the mark and accidentally kills a civilian child. But it’s ok for them to strap bombs to their own children, to women, and to mentally handicapped people and butcher non-combatants. I guess killing children if off limits unless they are the ones that get to do it.

The uneducated masses and mass murder

Andrew Kehoe never played a single violent video game in his life. He did not watch violent television or have an extensive collection of pornographic DVDs. He did not listen to rap music or rock and roll. Kehoe was not into Harry Potter books, didn’t suffer from not having after school programs, or buy guns at “Wal-Mart” or steal them from a family who neglected to lock them up.

Yet he killed more children in a school massacre than anyone else in American history. Kehoe was responsible for the bombing not shooting, but bombing of Bath Consolidated School in Bath Township, Michigan.

In 1927.

Long before the excuses of violent video games, movies, TV, or rap music could be used to identify “why” someone commits such an atrocity. While much of his childhood remains a misery, Kehoe did exhibit several behaviors common to such violent individuals. He was cruel to animals, exhibited agitation and inordinate anger towards others often, and came from a home where unhealthy conflict was reported between he and his stepmother. (He watched her burn for some time before dousing her with water after a stove explosion. She later died of her injuries.)

There would be no “quick fix” to the problem of Kehoe’s violence. We so often hear of “experts” who have all the answers about what causes violence. Too often those answers are quick fixes. Get rid of guns, violent video games, movies, and the like are often touted as the solution.

It goes much deeper than that. And sometimes folks, there are no solutions.

There are signs and symptoms, if you will, of some individuals careening towards acts of violence. Often these signs are ignored, disregarded, and simply overlooked because of lack of communication. Too often the media feeds us these quick fixes and we buy them. Without ever looking into the characteristics of those prone to killing.

The point of this article is not to go into every sign of violent prone individuals. There is a great deal of information in this blog on that. The point of this article is to help people realize that nothing is a quick fix, nothing is just a “simple answer”, and no single cause is to blame. Be cautious of those who claim they have a simple solution, all the answers, or innovative approaches for sale. Be careful who educates you on the ills of the world and the solutions to them.

Educate yourself. It may just save your life.

New World Disorder

The desire to have meaning in life. The drive to blame something or someone for the personal wrongs in life even if only indirectly. The need to have a battle to fight. The desire to have a sense of control because if some dark super-secret entity can be to blame for all the injustices then a sense of control can be regained by fighting against it. In other words when senseless disasters happen people want to make sense of them. Thus are some of the drivers for those who become immersed into the paranoid and sometimes deadly world of conspiracy theories.

Some common conspiracies that abound:
It is important to note that every one of these conspiracies was and is supported with mountains of “undeniable irrefutable evidence.”

September 11th was either allowed by the US government or directly committed by the US government.

Israel was behind the September 11th attacks because 4000 Jews did not show up for work that day. Allegedly they were all called the day before and warned not to go.

The government is hiding extra-terrestrials and is in cahoots with them to rule the world. The government kidnaps homeless people to be used as a food source for some of these extra-terrestrials.

Foreign troops live on US soil waiting for orders from the UN to attack Americans.

JFK was killed because he was going to talk about the government’s cooperation with aliens, Marilyn Monroe was killed because he told her the “truth.”

Jews use the blood of Palestinian children in bread recipes. And Americans like to have sex with their own kids.

Aids was created in a lab as a bio-weapon.

The government can monitor everyone’s phone calls, text messages, and emails all at once using a super program designed to pick out words like “bomb”. Even if your cell phone is turned off, the government can tell where you are by tracing its location via satellite.

These kinds of conspiracies have been around for years. They are simply rehashed and changed to fit with the times. During the Cold War, Chinese troops were secretly massed on the border in Mexico waiting to invade at any second. Russian troops were secretly living within the US under the government’s approval waiting for orders to take over. Now its not Russian or Chinese troops living near and with us, it is UN troops. The same lie, just with different characters. McCarthy suspected everyone of being a communist. Now conspiracy theorists suspect every President of the US as being part of the same secret fascist society planning to take over the world. During the Cold War every library book you checked out that would be considered questionable by the authorities was documented in your file. Now its every email you send that might say “terrorist”, “bin Laden”, “bomb”, or other key word that might make you a terror suspect.

Anytime someone famous or noteworthy dies an untimely death there is always a conspiracy of some sort. JFK, Marilyn Monroe, Kurt Cobain, Princess Diana, and even the death of Elvis are shrouded in some sort of conspiracy. People or things that mean something to us, can’t have simple accidents, commit suicide, or otherwise meet the same kinds of fates that everyday people meet, they must have some deeper reason for their demise.

A conspiracy theorist often has had disasters in their lives such as an untimely loss of a loved one, inability to get ahead in life, or suffers from an inability to use coping skills. Sometimes bad things happen and there is no explanation, no real purpose. People will often redirect this lack of control and anger in their lives towards something tangible.

In reality everything does not happen for a reason. We want to believe that it does because it gives us a sense of meaning and control in our lives. Even if that control seemingly appears chaotic. Sometimes accidents just happen and there are different scales of accidents. Princess Diana couldn’t have just died in an auto accident. Yet if she tripped and broke her ankle no one would have blamed this accident on a conspiracy.

Sometimes things just happen. For some that realization is too much to handle. That realization makes them feel they have no real control over what happens in their lives. Fear equals anger. Anger can lead to hate. And hate can lead to violence. For conspiracy theorists having a dark shadow entity such as a secret government cabal to create a worldwide dictatorship gives them a place to focus their fears into something tangible. Something that in theory they could stand up against and defeat. And the prospect of doing something about it returns a sense of control to a life that had none before.

Generally, the most popular conspiracy theories are centered around the belief that the government plans to turn the country into a ruthless dictatorship. One that eventually connects itself to a one world government of tyranny. Oddly enough this super secret cabal, as devious and expansive as it is, is recognized by every day people who “see through the CIA” led conspiracy. The CIA is smart but not smart enough to outfox “Ed” the local mechanic and his chat room buddies of conspiracy.com. Paranoia is the hallmark of conspiracy theory driven belief systems. There are many different flavors of this conspiracy with each claiming a monopoly on the truth, claiming they all have irrefutable evidence that their version of the truth about the cabal is the right one.

“Choosey Moms Choose Jiff” (In other words if you don’t buy Jiff you are not a good mother.) Conspiracy theories all work the same. The individuals who are onto them are the ones privileged with knowing the truth. If you believe something else you are considered either part of the conspiracy or too stupid, ignorant, or ill informed to see otherwise. It is at its essence a supremacist type attitude. If you are willing to see the truth and abandon ignorance you will believe their version of the truth. If not, you just aren’t as smart as they are.

This is a tactic of manipulation, in other words unless you are stupid you’ll believe their conspiracy. No matter what facts you present to refute their claims, your facts are wrong, propaganda, or you are a tool of the cabal. Yet their “facts” are based on pseudo-science, fuzzy photos, and testimony by individuals who are at best mentally ill if not attention seekers out for money. 1000 people can witness something and give their testimony as to what they saw but if it does not fit the conspiracy theorist’s ideology it is wrong. Yet conspiracy theorists can have one witness with a conflicting story and that story is the one to believe, if it fits their model of reality. With paranoid thinking, if you look for something you will find it.

I recently wrote a mock newsletter blaming all the conspiracies and ills of the world on a secret cabal of Pirates. As silly as it sounds I learned something from that. Ever since writing the newsletter blaming pirates for everything from global warming to the JFK assassination to 9-11, I see something about pirates nearly every day on TV or elsewhere in the real world. Comical yes, but a perfect example of how someone looking for a conspiracy like a shadow government can make any shadow look like part of their evidence.

Have you ever noticed that when you get a new car, you suddenly notice all the other cars on the road like yours? We look for things we are familiar with, things that fit with what we know. This is part of the madness a paranoid conspiracy theorist. The same thing happens when someone thinks they have a lucky number. They’ll suddenly notice that number all the time. The fact is it was always there but it holds no meaning until we create one for it.

So if you believe that the government lied about September 11th you will begin to see all kinds of “evidence” to support your belief.

Political New World Order
Groups that believe that a worldwide cabal of bankers, politicians (who by the way feign disagreements between party lines), and global corporations are a part of a concentrated effort to take over the world. Some variants of this conspiracy include a super-secret organization within the government, a government with a government, made up of CIA members, or communists, socialists, or fascists as part of the conspiracy. The UN is often identified as the worldwide government already making plans to divide the US up into sections to be controlled after the “great gun grab” where US troops under the directive of the UN will place people in concentration camps that refuse to give up their guns or pledge allegiance to the UN.

Secret Society New World Order
The secret society conspiracy can span across all of the various conspiracy theories. Groups identified such as the Masons, Illuminati, and numerous other secret societies are blamed for the global conspiracy to take over the world. Claims of foreign troops on American soil waiting for the word to go and take everyone’s guns away abound in this conspiracy theory as well as most every other conspiracy theory noted here.

Religious New World Order
Satanic forces may be behind the global conspiracy to take over the world. Variants of this conspiracy theory also include secret societies, black ops government agencies, or even the Catholic church as being part of a global effort to set up a one world government at any moment for the Anti-Christ.

Race Based New World Order
Skinheads, KKK members, Islamic extremists, black nationalists all blame Jews for the evils of the world. The holocaust is usually called a lie or an event that was greatly exaggerated. Threats to racial purity abound under this conspiracy theory, claiming that Jews and or some other race are behind a systematic effort to wipe out “pure” racial bloodlines. Some of these groups fully support the beliefs of Adolph Hitler or at least variations of his philosophy. Other groups may claim essentially the same kind of rhetoric except with putting their race as the center of power.

Alien (Extra-terrestrial ) New World Order
This conspiracy works just like all the others. Some claim that the government knew about September 11th before it happened or completely orchestrated the event with remote control jumbo jets, explosive laden Trade Center towers, or CIA operatives posing as terrorists. Others add another element to this conspiracy, the fact that the US government is in cahoots with extra-terrestrials to set up a one world government ripe for colonization by aliens. Supported by secret societies, the Anti-Christ himself, or super secret global governments the aliens are behind all sorts of nefarious efforts to destroy the constitution and unite the world under the authority of an alien race. While even the most paranoid of conspiracy theorists might scoff at such a notion, the very same reasoning tactics they use to support their beliefs is used by UFO conspiracy theorists. And yes there is “photographic evidence” of UFOs flying near the WTC on September 11th. Once again of course they are fuzzy micro-images that look a great deal like smudges on the film.

Most of these conspiracies are essentially the same. The differences being the motive for the takeover of the US and the world by one entity. Each group claims to have absolute proof with such outlandish claims like secret symbols being placed on the backs of road signs to help direct invading UN troops throughout the country. With logic suspended simple consideration of GPS technology that could be used instead of road sign stickers escapes the reasoning of these kinds of conspiracists.

Occam’s Razor (the simplest solution / explanation is often the right one) is generally ignored unless it can apply to the conspiracy theorist’s ideology. Consider the convoluted plot to begin the erosion of privacy by the staging of September 11th. Conspiracy theorists ignore common human sociology and claim that hundreds or even thousands of secret cabal members are able to keep quiet about their plans to take over the world. The inordinate elaborateness of using remote controlled jumbo jets to hit the towers is touted without considering that hundreds of airport personnel, air traffic controllers, and others would have to be in on the plot by claiming that these flights took off secretly from the airport to go on their dastardly mission.

We are also supposed to believe that flying planes into buildings wouldn’t be enough to bring down the towers but also explosives would have had to be planted ahead of time. Why then wouldn’t the government just use the explosives and claim terrorists did it? Why wouldn’t they just do something simple like detonate a small nuclear weapon in Manhattan? There would have been an innumerably less number of conspirators involved had they done something this simple. Logic is quite simply thrown out for the convenience of fitting their hate and suspicion of the government.

Yet none of these conspiracy theorists seem to notice that all the conspiracy websites sell merchandise, books, videos, and ask for donations to keep the “truth” going. They ignore that the real truth here is money. Money that could be going to help fight the real threats of terrorism, poverty, and child abuse but is rather squandered on those getting famous and rich off of paranoid people’s fears.

Fuzzy photos, doctored photos, comments taken out of context, and junk science are all presented as absolute evidence confirming beliefs that defy logic. What many of these conspiracy theorists don’t realize is that the base root of their beliefs about the “evil government” originated in Neo-Nazi / white supremacist philosophy.

An ongoing claim that a missile hit the Pentagon is circulated ignoring the fact that numerous people involved in launching such a missile would have known about it and would likely talk. They ignore the fact that air traffic controllers would have to be silenced as well. Not to mention that hundreds of eye witnesses saw the plane hit the Pentagon.

They ignore basic physics in favor of juvenile reasoning of how much damage a plane would do to a heavily reinforced building. We are also supposed to believe that real physicists would not come forward and raise questions or experts like engineers would not come forward and ask questions.

Logic is abandoned to fit fear. The real danger of all of this kind of rhetoric was made clear by individuals like Timothy McVeigh who believed in these kinds of conspiracies and felt that he had to take the battle to the enemy first. Al Qaeda centers itself on conspiracy. Jews control the US and are working with them to destroy Islam. They are killing thousands of people based on ridiculous illogical theories.

Paranoids who become more unstable over time begin to feed upon the ideology of fear and doom and their tendency for violence can be amplified over time by such irrational beliefs and active involvement in groups that support such beliefs.

More frightening is the fact that some well educated people are beginning to question the events of September 11th as being part of a government plot. Thanks in part to “convincing” videos full of junk science, conjecture, and just plain lies. This process is slow but effective over time. And people are often too lazy to go out and research something for themselves. They gladly sit back and question everything but the “evidence” of parasitic crazies, quite simply because sometimes its just entertaining.

Paranoia, conspiracy, and fear all drive cults, terrorist groups, and supremacist groups. Without these elements these groups don’t flourish. A threat must exist to keep the group intact. Often times this “threat” is a manufactured one using miniscule bits of truth and distorting them to outlandish proportions. Fear of being labeled foolish or ignorant also keeps these groups in tact. If you disagree on the elements of conspiracy and don’t follow the groupthink of the group you must be stupid, an outcast, and doomed to failure.

Look at Nazi Germany in World War 2. The populace was gradually brainwashed to believe that a single race was responsible for the impending destruction of Germany.

Perhaps that is why residents living near Auschwitz ignored the smell of burning flesh, because Hitler’s “evidence” of the Jewish threat was so convincing. Convincing that is in the absence of logic, reasoning, and real facts.

I speak from experience I am shamefully embarrassed to say. For some time I too bought into some conspiracy theory rhetoric. Until the day of September 11th when I was shocked into reality and realized that you don’t have to look for men in black hiding under your bed to get you. There are plenty of real threats out there ready, willing, and able to kill as many Americans as possible.

All because of their own conspiracy laden beliefs.

KHARTOUM (Reuters) - A British teacher accused of insulting Muslims after her class called a teddy bear Mohammad spent more than five hours behind closed doors in a Khartoum courtroom on Thursday as a judge heard the case against her.

In London, British Foreign Secretary David Miliband told the Sudanese ambassador he was concerned about the teacher, 54-year-old Gillian Gibbons, who was arrested and charged after one of the school staff reported her to the authorities.

"We believe that this was an innocent misunderstanding," Miliband said in a statement.
A member of Gibbons's defence team quoted the judge as saying he wanted to finish the case on Thursday and court sources said the session could be over by 8 p.m. (1700 GMT).
Sudanese state media said on Wednesday that Gibbons faced charges of insulting Islam, inciting hatred and showing contempt for religious beliefs because of the toy's name. If convicted, she could face 40 lashes, a fine, or one year in jail...

And think...these are the “reasonable” ones. There are people in our country that actually think that we should and could sit down with the extremist branches of Islam and “negotiate” about the whole terrorism thing.

Naming a teddy bear a name that millions and millions of other people have is the worst concern they have in the Sudan?

Wasn’t there something about a genocide going on there awhile back?

Offensive cartoons. Remember those? Somebody made a cartoon image of Mohammad with a bomb on his head. Then the response was “how dare you implicate that our religion is violent!” Followed immediately with promises to kill the guy who drew the cartoon.

Panties on the head. Oh how our media played into this one. The enemy slowly slices the heads off of tied up and thoroughly defenseless civilian contractors and aid workers for home videos and the worldwide outrage was only about as loud as a fart in a hurricane. But pictures of panties on someone’s head and the whole world comes unglued and angry at the evil West.

Now there’ll be a jihad declared on the Build-a-Bear Workshop corporation for this latest offense.

You can’t tell me these idiots actually believe that this woman was intentionally trying to insult anyone. What is really going on here is hatred of women in any perceived position of authority. Women who are educated and especially who are not bomb wearing extremists subject to wearing burlap sacks and daily beatings are a threat to this repressive way of life. Somebody there hates the West and this is the best excuse they can come up with to “get back at us.” Real mature.

I wonder how much money the West is pissing away in that country?

These people always want us out of their business. But they don’t have a problem putting their hands in our pockets. They hate the dirty West. But love the West’s dirty money don’t they?

Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize. From what I heard he was up against some stiff competition. One of the people he squared off against was some lady that helped save 2,500 children from being eliminated by the Nazis.

I did take the liberty of looking at a few of our society's other tragic needs through the eyes of folks who believe the Nobel Peace Prize should have gone to Mr. Gore. Maybe you'll agree that this is a better way of looking at things we have no intention of fixing anyway.

Now if we could just figure out a way to reduce lead emissions from automatic rifles we wouldn’t have to worry about the survivors of school shootings being needlessly exposed to lead poisoning.

Not until the creation of environmentally friendly nuclear weapons will we reduce the potentially disastrous after effects of a terrorist attack in downtown Manhattan.

Our environment would benefit if we could get all rapists to simply use biodegradable condoms. After all one in three girls sexually assaulted before the age of 18 could potentially create alot of choking hazards for birds.

The old saying goes, death before dishonor. This is a commitment to a cause. But some people have it way backwards.

I recently heard of a gang member being gunned down. This was sad but not unexpected considering his lifestyle. What was worse?

How the fellow gang members paid tribute to his loss. Lined up and posing for pictures after the funeral, dressed in gang colors, and wearing a memorial t-shirt they “celebrated” this guy’s life.

Funny how they didn’t have enough sense to realize that they were truly celebrating this guy’s death.

Promoting the very thing that put him in the ground. The very thing that resulted in his having his brains blown out. They were not honoring him. They were paying homage to death.

I wonder where is Al Sharpton on this one? Its easy to carry out symbolic protests burying the so called “N word” but not so easy to actually get into a community and make changes that can actually be effective. Comedian DL Hugely agrees with this.

While it is a nice gesture to “bury” the N word, it would be a much nicer gesture to get into communities where young black men are the ones being buried. It is not the N word that kills. It is the bullet. DL also makes a profound statement that really hits, “it’s not what they call you, it’s what you answer to.”

Folks like Al Sharpton claim to be focused on changing things. But nothing is changing. You want to honor the dead? Then Al, maybe you should spend more time working in the community rather than in the TV spotlight. Kids murdering each other over “territory” they don’t own in the first place don’t give a crap about the N word. They sure don’t give a crap about people ranting on TV about how “concerned” they are about their communities. While doing the ranting on a sound stage in Hollywood.

I don’t care whether you think what Don Imus said was racist or not. Don Imus didn’t murder anyone. Too bad such protest wasn’t raised over the blood shed in Los Angeles that day. Or New York, or St. Louis, or every other gang territory in between.

I am pretty sure Al Sharpton doesn’t live in a community where he has to duck bullets.

It’s easy to make public stands about how much you care about this or that. Marches with signs that say “stop the violence” usually occur after someone has been killed. Does anyone actually think that marching around with signs will make gang member stop and say, “Oh I never thought of stopping the violence, maybe these people are on to something, maybe I’ll change.”

That’s idiocy.

I also heard another person, who supposedly has some qualifications to teach others about how to curtail violence and specifically gang activity make a speech. Wait to you hear this one.

She proposed a situation, where a father and son were both active in gangs. She then asked her audience to come up with some so called interventions to help this kid. When she asked, “What can be done to get this kid out of a gang?” One of the audience members replied, “nothing.” As it turns out, he was alot closer to reality than she was.

Her response was a borderline arrogant, “oh no” “What you need to do is get the kid involved with positive peers.”

You gotta be kidding me right? Has she ever stepped foot out of her precious little fantasy land bordered by white picket fences and into a gang riddle community? No of course not. She obviously likes to read books though, written by others who have never worked with gang kids in some of these decaying neighborhoods. Written by others who have never stepped across pools of blood to get to work.

It is this kind of one size fits all naivety that keeps the cycle of death going. People who don’t have guts enough to actually get out there and do something. No, this kind of work isn’t for everyone. But at least educate yourself before you make stupid statements. Then again, her motive? Well it was to promote some counseling program. Money being highly involved.

Whether it is TV time or money or some other motive too many people with little or no experience in matters of death like to promote their answers. But when their answers to the problem have no basis in reality and no effect on the problem it is useless.

Kids keep on getting buried. The death toll keeps on rising. To do nothing is tragic but to do something that is meaningless is a dishonor.

In this case dishonor after death.

You may wonder what an affair has to do with gangs or threats. More than you think.

Whether you use the internet to cheat on your spouse or you do it in real time there is something you should consider first. Be honorable. There is no forgetting your vows, you simply disregard them for some foolish idea that there must be something better out there for you.

Yet you don’t even try and fix what you already have.

Unless your spouse is abusing you in some form it can generally be fixed. But we want the easy way out. Or what we think is the easy way. Nothing is easy, nothing worth having anyway. If the guy or girl you are talking to, makes everything look easy, everything just seems to fit perfectly, you can bet it is not.

Why would you want to put your trust in someone that wants you to lie to your spouse. To put your trust into some relationship he / she is trying to build out of a lie. I know someone that left her husband for another man. That other man knew she was married yet engaged her anyway. Her husband was a good man, honest, hardworking, caring, and would give her whatever she wanted. Evidently what she wanted was what she thought was greener grass.

She got a snake.

Now her marriage is a living hell. And to say that she regrets it is an understatement. But there is no turning back. In her new marriage they both distrust each other and constantly accuse each other of cheating. Hmmm, I wonder where that comes from. They’ve already screwed up their kids with the constant battle royal they have almost daily.

Their kids who are going to grow up thinking that this is what marriage should be about. Their kids who are probably going to grow up so pissed off at the world that they turn their backs on it. Their kids who are more likely to associate with negative peers, abuse drugs and alcohol, or likely act out sexually with shallow relationships, (because obviously commitment is a joke to them)...

Certainly was to their mother.

The ironic thing is that she left her husband who never accused her, never yelled at her, never mistreated her, or belittled her and then got exactly that from her new relationship. She left her kids feeling alone and afraid. She didn’t love “daddy” enough to work on their relationship. So in their minds they ask will she do this to them too? That’s what the kids are thinking anyway.

Kids like these grow up angry most of the time. They grow up afraid. Afraid that everything that matters to them, will leave them. And afraid equals angry and angry sometimes ends up equaling violence. Their sense of security and home was stolen with a kiss. But their mother didn’t think about them, only herself. All she could think about was how the grass must be greener on the other side. She forgot about the snakes waiting for her.

And her kids are the ones getting bitten.

NYPD report eyes threat from home-grown terrorists

With nearly complete anonymity individuals involved in terrorist activities can exchange recipes for bomb making materials, poison making materials, and other tactics to be used against Americans and other individuals deemed “infidels”.

I have personally witnessed the theft and use of private citizen’s credit card information by such individuals to funnel money for their jihad. These individuals are having their private information stolen through the use of Trojan horse programs (similar to viruses), installed on their computers via innocuous looking downloads from the net. Imagine the FBI coming to your door telling you that your name, address, and credit card information have been posted online for the entire terrorist world to see.

"The Internet is the new Afghanistan," Kelly said, as he released a New York Police Department (NYPD) report on the home-grown threat of attacks by Islamist extremists. "It is the de facto training ground. It's an area of concern."

Group interactions make individual distortions greater. If you have violent inclinations or have radicalized beliefs and you interact with others who do, you will become more inclined to act upon these. That is behavioral science. That is the reason we tend to bond together with like minded individuals, to reinforce our beliefs and to justify them.

The internet makes it exponentially easier to do this. Networks are scattered all across the internet linking up terrorist ideology, racist ideology, and now even gang related networks. Each day the number of websites for these and just about any other deviant belief system is growing. It truly is a web.

A web that you can get caught in and summarily devoured.

You bank online, you use a credit card online, you engage strangers online, and you may find yourself an unwilling participant even a contributor to the very funding of terrorism.

While the internet can be a great networking tool. A place to meet new friends, learn other’s cultures, or share valuable information. It can also be a place where death lives.

The video shows two men, bound and kneeling on the ground in a forest, a large swastika flag hanging behind them. A third man then beheads one of the captives. The second captive is shot in the head. Two masked men raise their arms in a Nazi salute.

The most horrible thing I have ever seen was from a jihadist website. Home video of what appeared to be a 18 or 19 year old soldier being beheaded. Slowly. The video was in full color and full sound. The sound of a young person hogtied and sliced apart is a sound you will never get out of your head.

Ever.

Videos of 8 and 9 year old boys, reenacting such bloody scenes are posted on the net. You know what that means? That means that these monsters have shown children that age such videos. There is little chance of undoing that damage. So much “outrage” is expressed over putting panties on the heads of prisoners and yet there is little to none for those would butcher human beings in manners worse than cattle.

Yet groups like PETA are outraged over fur. It’s a shame such “activists” don’t seem to care as much about humans slaughtering humans in far less humane ways and for more devious reasons.

Child pornography trafficking, bomb making instructional videos, radicalization of adults and children, “how to” instructions on making various weapons, poisons, and biological weapons, are all out there over the internet.

Cyber-terrorism now takes on new meaning. The real cyber-terrorism threat does not lie in devastating attacks on financial or defense facilities’ computer systems. The real threat is the persistent and relentless attacks on the minds of people by the use of the propaganda machine that teaches children how to kill you. Not in dusty jihadist training camps.

But over the internet.

I recently saw another story about child molesters engaging married or single moms online in order to get to their children.

People just don’t get it.

IF YOU GO ONLINE, DO NOT, POST PERSONAL INFORMATION. Do not tell anyone that you have kids or where you live or what your real name is. And for God’s sake, don’t post your kids’ pictures online.

Unless you want some pedophile masturbating to them.

I have received emails from women in need of counseling. With no other information other than their email address you can often find out all of their personal information. I often run checks on people who contact me, just as security experiments. On at least two occasions, two women emailed me from their college email addresses. Within less than 5 minutes I was able to go to that school’s website and access, without any illegal hacking, their personal information. It was posted right their in public cyberspace.

Within 5 minutes I had their home addresses. 30 seconds later I could get driving directions from my house to theirs.

You better go and double check everything you put online. Unlike the real world in cyberspace you don’t know you are being stalked until you are in his hands. Don’t just think that because you put your personal information in someone else’s hands, like these ladies did with their college, that it is safe.

Cyberspace is often referred to as a fantasyland. Separate from the real world.

IT IS NOT.

It is the real world, just as much as using a phone to talk to someone. We are fooled by the illusion of distance. We think across cyberspace we are safe. We are no more safe than if the predator is across the street looking into our window.

Chat rooms can be addictive. So can crack. You are a fool if you think you can’t be compromised. The thing is, you go in there with an attitude of “I won’t tell any real information” but if you encounter a charming person and he wants to spend enough time engaging you, telling you what you think you need to hear, you will tell and...he will own you.

Do you really think that serial killers, sex offenders, and the like look like monsters? Do you really think that most of them will speak in a Darth Vader like voice of evil? They are skilled and they are going to sound like a perfect angel. That is how they get the prey they are after. They will listen for your weaknesses. They will remember the things you think you need and aren’t getting. If you have low self esteem they will tell you how wonderful you are. If you are lonely, they will tell you that you are not alone. Coincidentally they will have “gone through the same thing” that you have. They will relate to you. They will have a “connection” to you.

You ever see someone’s pet snake kill and eat a mouse? The mouse is dropped in the cage and the snake usually doesn’t spring right into action. He lets the mouse get comfortable. He lets the mouse admire the beauty and colors of his skin. He lets the mouse crawl all over him. He lets the mouse drop its guard. He charms the mouse with his eyes and the hypnotic movement of his tongue.

Then he strikes, eating it head first and choking the life out of it.

In cyberspace they can engage us from the “safe” world of fantasy. It’s not safe. It’s more dangerous than the real world. Because they can surveil you. Stalk you. Find out where you live and where your kids go to school, if you are careless enough. And all of that without even using a hacking program. Imagine how much easier for those who know how to hack into your computer.

In the real world you may see them coming. From the distance of cyberspace you probably will not. They surveil your soul and find what it is missing. And they act like they have the answers.

They will charm you. Then drop the “c.”

rose colored glasses aren't bulletproof

(Caution: I debated about putting these pictures on here. But then thought, that maybe some people need to see them. Even rose colored glasses won’t hide these truths.)

Saw this woman doing a YouTube question for presidential hopefuls last night on TV. Her statement was something to the effect of, if we increased financial support, provided food, and other kinds of aid to the middle east, then terrorism would pretty much go away.

This is logical isn’t it? By the same logic, if we provide increased financial support, provided food, and other kinds of aid to the south in the United States, the Ku Klux Klan would go away too wouldn’t it?

We all know that terrorists, oh I mean freedom fighters in the middle east, don’t have the financial resources to take care of their people’s needs. Al Qaeda and every other jolly little group with their jolly little nicknames, have to spend the hundreds of millions of dollars they raise every year on ammunition, WMD research and acquisition, and bomb making materials. Oh, let’s not forget about purchasing all those American flags to burn in televised protests, the jungle gym equipment we have all seen used in their terrorist training camp videos, and video equipment with internet connections so that they can broadcast cutting a hogtied civilian prisoner’s head off. That doesn’t leave too many resources for the freedom fighters to assist their poor starving and suffering people.

Maybe we could also help with educational resources for these people too. According to people like this lady, apparently a terrorism expert, poor education is another contributor to terrorism. I don’t know what to make of the dozens of doctors that were planning on blowing up civilians the other day, or the fact that the second in command of Al Qaeda is also a doctor, or the fact that the 9-11 highjackers were pretty much a collection of college grads. Maybe this is a fluke?

Anyway I feel I am getting away from the point. Going on a tangent if you will. Back to this lady’s statement. Which frighteningly enough was one of a few out of thousands selected by CNN to be presented to the hopefuls. I guess CNN thought it was a good question too. Daniel Pearl didn’t work for CNN did he? Oh that’s right he didn’t. The lady seems to have the answer to terrorism that we all have been looking for over the past 40 years. Who would have thought that this nugget of genius would come from “Eleanor”, clerical assistant, from Jersey city? Thank God!

We will have to consult with her again though, after fixing the Middle East with dollars. (Remember the ME has little cash flow...3 bucks a gallon for gas doesn’t go far). We are going to need to find out how to clear up the al Qaeda cells on the rest of the continents on Earth. Which happens to be all of the continents on earth.

We’ll have to ask her about school security too and things of that nature. Hell, she could kill two birds with one stone if you think about it. Remember Beslan Russia? Probably not...wasn’t covered extensively by the media as Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan. That’s the school were Chechen Islamic terrorists took about 300 people hostage, stabbed kids, blew up kids, shot fleeing kids in the back and according to reports even raped kids before throwing them out windows. These freedom fighters eventually killed over 160 kids plus about as many adults. Maybe this lady can help find the solutions to Islamic terrorist based school violence. Maybe she and Cindy Sheehan can even get together and instead of collecting money to send to assist our troops overseas, spend money on making nifty little “impeach Bush” signs and T-shirts.

One time I went to pull out onto the highway and drove into the turn lane so that I could get ready to move over. Then some idiot drives by and starts blowing his horn and giving me the one finger salute. I am not sure what his problem was unless he thought I was going to pull out in front of him. To which I wonder if he had enough sense to know what a turn lane is for.

He goes on up the road where he pulls into the driveway of an abandoned house. Then he jumps out and starts “challenging” me like some sort of 4th grader. I thought to myself how easy it would be just to shoot him from my car.

Thing was, I was armed.

I have difficulty understanding why someone would make such a challenge when he doesn’t have any information on the “enemy” he is challenging. Evidently Sun Tzu’s Art of War is not on his reading list.

Imagine if I had been a psycho. Imagine how utterly stupid he would realize he was, if I had pulled in for his 3rd grader schoolyard challenge and killed both him and his girlfriend. Lying on pavement pissing yourself as you bleed out, just doesn’t seem worth trying to act like the alpha-male does it?

Do you know what pretty much every workplace shooter had in common? Aside from the general behavioral characteristics?

They drove to the places where they tried to kill everyone.

I can understand road rage. There is something about the anonymity of being in a car, not being up close to a perceived threat, that makes us more likely to act aggressively. But bullets do not care what kind of windshield you have and they sure do not care about your anonymity.

Weigh this, the next time someone cuts you off, think long and hard about blowing your horn, flipping them off, and the ultimate suicidal stupidity, stopping for a fight. Maybe that guy is on his way to kill his coworkers.

Maybe he will start his body count with you.

We die by our rationalization that “it won’t happen to me.” And every corpse left decaying on the roadside following a road rage shooting said the same thing.
You never know if the “offender” may have an automatic rifle riding shotgun.

You could end up sharing the slow lane alongside the rotting carcass of a squirrel as the next road kill.

This is for child and family counselors, treatment institutions, and every government entity that does counseling services for kids in custody...

Working in the field I work in I am constantly bombarded by individuals that seem to place far more stock in paper than they do in individuals. Having a degree holds more weight with most people than someone without a degree with 20 years of experience. I’ve seen people promoted to therapist positions just because they had a degree, not in counseling, but in accounting. That particular facility had no interest in a person’s experience with working with kids but rather that they had a piece of paper on the wall. After spending his workweek “counseling” he’d spend his weekends on drinking binges.

I hear it all the time. “This child needs more advanced counseling from a therapist with a Master’s degree or a PhD.” Never mind that such a therapist may have no rapport with kids or has never had experience with growing up with a difficult life. As a counselor don’t ever tell them “I know what you are going through” unless you actually do.

Kids know a fake when they see one.

I see people fresh out of college with their arrogant, I’m better than you, save the world attitude, start life as marriage and family counselors. Kids with no kids of their own trying to teach parents of troubled children how to deal with them. Many adults know fakes when they see one too.

It seems common sense, if you have never been married, what business do you have being a marriage counselor?

So what is the motivation for all of this obsession with paper on the wall? Usually it’s money. Somehow someway an organization gets more money or recognition or whatever with the more “educated” individuals they have working for them.

I’ve known plenty of idiots with degrees.

By no means do I knock education. It is vital. But this wholesale blind adoration of someone’s worth as a counselor, child worker, or whatever kind of therapist is just plain stupid. I know of the story of one woman, unable to afford college, who worked with kids for 20 years. And quite successfully I might add. She was turned down a position where she could be in charge of a program for troubled families because she didn’t have a piece of paper. Rather they would have some wet behind the ears college graduate, that doesn’t know squat about family little alone abuse, depression, or troubled kids, come in and take the reins.

That program is now on the verge of collapse.

Education is not simply memorizing enough information to pass a test. Or being a good BS’r writing papers. Someone who has enough money to go to college, enough brain to memorize information etc...that doesn’t mean they are skilled at counseling at all.

I can remember going to EMT school. While much of the information we learned was essential to our jobs, what was in the books was meant to be a guideline not a bible. The instructor had enough sense to tell us, “When you get out of school, throw the book away.” “The real world is a helluva lot different.”

Just because you have a degree doesn’t make you smart. There are an innumerable amount of people out there that didn’t even graduate high school who have more common sense than some PhD holders. Again, I am not saying drop out of school or don’t seek higher education. I am saying though, don’t get an arrogant attitude because you passed a test.

The best counselors for kids and families are the ones that have been there. Not necessarily the ones that showed up for every class. Counseling is more of a gift than a skill taught with power point bullets. While qualifications are vitally important you had better not place all your trust in someone’s educational accomplishments.

Look at this individual’s educational background:

...graduated from Harvard. After graduation he attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, earning a master's degree and a Ph.D. in mathematics. He began a research career at Michigan but made few friends. One of his professors at Michigan, George Piranian, said: "It is not enough to say he was smart." He earned his Ph.D. by solving, in less than a year, a math problem that Piranian had been unable to solve. His specialty was a branch of complex analysis known as geometric function theory. "I would guess that maybe 10 or 12 people in the country understood or appreciated it", said Maxwell O. Reade, a retired math professor...

Sounds like a very brilliant man. One that any business savvy corporation would love to have on the payroll.

His name was Kaczynski. Theodore Kaczynski. Also known as the Unabomber. He killed 3 people with mail bombs and made numerous attempts to kill many more. The paper on his walls didn’t mean he was a good person. And I sure wouldn’t want him working for me.

Here is another guy, which very well could have been one of those counselors that the state or some institution would put so much stock in because of his paper on the wall...

While in school to major in psychology, he would later work as a night-shift volunteer at Seattle's Suicide Hot Line, a suicide crisis center that served the greater Seattle metropolitan and suburban areas. ... became an honors student and was well liked by his professors. ...graduated in 1972 from the University of Washington with a degree in psychology , and soon afterward, he began working for the state Republican Party, which included a close relationship with Gov. Daniel J. Evans. He was a dedicated professional who had been accepted to law school.

Here’s more on this apparently brilliant and well educated man:

On death row, he admitted to decapitating at least a dozen of his victims with a hacksaw. He kept the severed heads later found on Taylor Mountain (Rancourt, Parks, Ball, Healy) in his room or apartment for some time before finally disposing of them. He confessed to cremating Donna Manson's head in his girlfriend's fireplace. Some of the skulls of His victims were found with the front teeth broken out. He also confessed to visiting his victims' bodies over and over again at the Taylor Mountain body dump site. He stated that he would lie with them for hours, applying makeup to their corpses and having sex with their decomposing bodies until putrefaction forced him to abandon the remains. Not long before his death, he admitted to returning to the corpse of Georgann Hawkins for purposes of necrophilia.

In total he killed at least 33 women. His name was Ted Bundy.

Paper doesn’t equal good. Paper doesn’t equal smart. It could indicate a great ability to manipulate. A great ability to memorize words and notes. But a degree does not necessarily equal “professional”, “expert”, or even “qualified.”

Young people should always pursue higher education. But often times we put way too much faith in the paper on someone’s wall. We forget how paper isn’t everything...

It wasn’t the paper, it was the man.

Stay in school. But keep in mind that whatever your title after your name, it doesn’t make you. Experiences, common sense, and the ability to just sometimes shut your mouth and listen to the kid you are counseling is what they need.

The kids could care less about what that paper on the wall says even if you do.

Does anyone see the problem with that?

One of them is a tragedy. The other is just a tragic excuse for entertainment.

Does it seem strange to anyone else that subjects like Paris Hilton’s arrest, Al Gore’s doomsday prophecies, or Anna Nicole’s “baby daddy” drama make the headlines ahead of child sexual abuse cases?

What is wrong with us?

Maybe it’s because we have no idea what horrible crimes against kids really look like. Maybe it’s because we’d rather not think about it. I hope it’s not because we are such a shallow species that we need entertainment more than action. For God’s sake, we watch people cheat on their spouses for entertainment. And we can’t figure out why divorce rates are so high. When is the last time you saw a show about how to improve a marriage? Dr. Phil doesn’t count either...because no marriage, no family problem or other devastating issue is resolved in 30 minutes or an hour. You think that everything has to be solved in microwave form and if not, just give up on it.

Why do we not see the utter hypocrisy in some of some of these news stories? If we did maybe we would be able to focus on what matters. Al Gore is concerned about global warming. He tells us so from the seat of his luxury jet...pumping out God knows how much crap into the atmosphere. Paris Hilton ignores the law but you and I better not. Anna Nicole? Why even bother with that one? In one breath a newscaster talks about the death of a child at the hands of an abuser then in the next she is smiling talking about some “star” pissing their life away on drugs. Lindsey, your self debasement is not entertaining. You are killing yourself and the Enquirer is selling magazines off of your demise.

We are quick to forward emails to everyone in our address book telling the reader that for everyone they send this to, they will get good luck. As if there is such a thing. As if the act of sending notes electronically somehow changes people’s destiny. We are quick to turn on TV shows where the star of the show is some self centered, arrogant, and rude jackass that seems to enjoy berating people. Look up the definition of sociopath. Look at some of his qualities. And we can’t seem to figure out why kids are becoming more violent.

I used to think that TV didn’t have as great of an effect on kids’ being violent as everyone claims. In one way I am right. Watching violence on TV can make us desensitized true enough. But which makes us more violent? Being entertained by watching killing or being entertained by “heroes” or role models that are concerned only about themselves. Look at school shooters. Look at how they blame everyone else for their problems. Look at how they value themselves and their “poor me’ attitudes.

Sounds a whole lot like Paris, that idiot chef on Hell’s kitchen or 900 other morons on TV that get off running others into the ground.

Selfishness and valuing ourselves as more important than anything else. When a kid doesn’t get the attention that he thinks he should (he is more important than anyone else) then yeah, it makes it easier for him to lash out at those he thinks don’t value him as much as he values himself. When our entertainers don’t care about others, then why should we? We get off on being number one. It feeds an ego. Like the old saying goes, we begin to think “our shit don’t stink.” Don’t forget the other old saying...”Pride comes before a fall.”

So what kind of monsters are we ignoring, what kind of evil do we discard for the sake of a media inspired ego orgasm?

These are the things that people do to children. (from Anna Salter’s book, Predators: Pedophiles, Rapists, and Other Sex Offenders):

• A man shot off a teenage girl’s arm for the sexual thrill it gave him.
• A rapist of 13 year old girls preferred to anally rape them on cement floors so it would hurt more.
• A father would use lit candles to cauterize the cuts he would inflict to his daughter’s vagina and around her nipples.
• A father who knew his 9 year old daughter was afraid of the dark would tie her to a tree in the woods and allow different rapists to come into the woods and rape her in the night.

A father describes how he abused his son:

“I was putting a large Ziploc bag over his head and taping it around his neck with black duct tape and raping him to the point that he would turn blue, pass out. At that point I would rip the bag off his head, not for fear of hurting him, but for the excitement.”
“After seeing him pass out and ripping the bag off his head…I’d jump up on his chest and masturbate in his face and make him suck my penis…as he started to come back awake. While he was coughing and choking I would rape him in the mouth.”

That’s real reality. Not the IQ draining crap that we fill our lives with from Hollywood. Maybe, just maybe, if we could take a break from soap opera crap on TV and look at what is going on in our backyards, we might deal with the monsters living in our backyards.

Paris Hilton’s troubles don’t seem so damned important now do they?

sins of the father

I remember “Joseph” from my early days of juvenile counseling. He was a pudgy kid with acne and an abrasive personality. Actually that’s putting it nicely. The thing about Joseph was that he would often blow up over the smallest thing. Swearing, spitting, snarling like a caged wolverine.

Even though he was relatively diminutive in size most staff dreaded working the hall he was on. You couldn’t give him a consequence for anything. Not without him having one of those “episodes” anyway.

He would whine and complain. Stomp his feet like a 4 year old and throw whatever he could get his hands on over something as minor as not being allowed an extra brownie for dinner.

He would smart mouth. Curse and yell. He would threaten people three times his size. He couldn’t back up his mouth but he sure tried to convince others he could. I really don’t think he cared if he could.

One day, during one of his calm moments, we were having a casual conversation. I don’t recall how it came up. But he shows me his arms. Up and down both arms are small pinkish scars maybe a quarter inch in diameter.

I see them and wonder if it is some form of skin disease, like eczema or ringworm. I inquire innocently enough…not having the experience I do now to immediately recognize them for what they were.

He tells me, rather nonchalantly, that they are cigarette burns. He proceeds to tell me how his parents did this to him and he is telling me as though he is recounting an episode from a favorite TV show. Face to face he acts as though it is no big deal. But in his dismissive chuckle I can almost hear the devil laugh.

And now I know where that rage comes from.

The devil in Joseph’s life did not wear a red costume. He did not carry a pitchfork or smell of brimstone. He was not a master of fire and darkness. But he did burn this child. He was not the “father of lies” but he was a “father” who was a lie. Joseph suffered from the sins of his father. His skin bore the mark of the real beast.

After that moment I always took Joseph’s little outbursts a little less personal. His insults a little less serious. His anger a little less towards me. It wasn’t me or the rules he was mad at. It wasn’t that he was being a hard head. Nor was he trying to buck the system for the fun of it. He was mad. No, enraged. And rightfully so.

And I believe despite all of this…a stronger person than I could ever be.

Now it made sense. Now that anger had a face and it was not really Joseph’s.
He was hurt and hurt bad. Worse than most of us will ever be. All before his 13th birthday. Hurt physically but more so emotionally. The scars are on his skin. And the emotional scars are in his voice of anger, his cursing words, and his temper tantrums. These things as it turns out…these things we so readily dismiss as the actions of a brat turn out to be scars. Joseph pretended to be many things. Anything really to keep others from seeing how vulnerable he was. He figured if he shouted enough, raised his hackles enough, and broke enough things, maybe, just maybe someone would think twice about burning him again. As with most animals in the wild, he knew, that in order for something to hurt you it has to get close to you. He wouldn’t make that mistake again no matter the cost.

In retrospect I learned a lot of things from Joseph back then. I learned that scars are not always on the skin. That tantrums are not always for attention. That insults are not always personal.

I learned what a devil a man can be. I learned how rage is often really someone crying. I learned that the sins of a father can destroy a son. I learned that hell can be a place in someone's heart.

And I learned how to spot a cigarette burn scar on a kid’s body.
